In Lennon We Trust.

|

The Diary is going on a summer holiday. Cliff Richard is not driving the bus.

So, Billy Davies wants Kelvin Wilson to be offered “a bumper contract” and that due to “behind the scenes turmoil” and “we hope to make the most of instability by offering around £1million”.

Meh.

The fact that the SPL’s revenue “fell £31m to £168m” due to “the o#d f#rms poor form in European competition” while making want to scream MAYBE THE OTHERS SHOULDNAE GET BEAT FROM PENGUINS AND PUFFINS AT THE QUALIFYING STAGE is not bothering me today.

Spartak Moscow mooching ” So, far, Spartak has no comment to on his move to give” -with “his” being Aiden McGeady – doesn’t lend me to start dreaming of the money we will get when he does go.

One of my all time heroes, Paul Elliot, Hampden in the rain, 1990 League Cup Final and his screaming banshee goal celebration – which eventually proved fruitless – still ranks, for me, as a pure unbridled joyful Celtic moment, saying “When you have played at a level Neil has, you an insight into players that others don’t have and I think that instinct will make him a good judge of player” is worth comment but not today.

Being told that that “hitkid Marcus Pedersen is a special talent like Rooney” and “his 17 goals in 34 games prompted the Hoops to ponder a swoop”  would usually have me checking to see if a horse had shat in my spare bedroom. Today, it’s just a passing story in the silly season.

You see the main event happened today. No matter your misgivings or disappointment the choice has been made and it’s……

In Lennon we trust.

With a little help from some bloke called Baxter.

The fun has just begun.
