In The Name Of A Father Figure

|

The Diary is singing; his name is Rio and he’s sitting in the stand.

They are quite rightly laughing at the absurdity of it all. They are getting flung more angles to report this tale of woe than given out by your average sixth form trigonometry teacher.

No chance of getting Stuart Baxter on a part-time basis“, “It’s us or them, Baxter”, “Finnish FA has dismissed any notion” and that “the Finnish FA have rejected out of hand” they are cackling like witches round a cauldron adding a leg of a toad and a cats tale into the putrid smelling pot.

“There has been no approach from Celtic. I speak with Stuart almost every day, and I have spoken to him today about many things, but not about this issue.” said the Finnish FA’s general secretary while another spokesman matter-of-facted “We will not accept a part-time coach, Stuart is a full-time manager.” , which hopefully for many fans is the end of the matter and no-one decides to notice the whole tapping up issue.

The ludicrous situation of appointing a manager then trying to appoint a boss to watch over him as you decide that he might not be up for the job- that must be the biggest confidence booster for the man you have appointed –  will haunt those in charge of our club for years to come. No matter what this season brings they will be reminded of this episode hopefully with regular punches to the solar plexus.

Proving that he was not a figment of our imagination or some Pixer generated cartoon figure that was created to make small people feel better about themselves, Shaun Maloney, issued a stern warning to those in charge.

They underrated Neil Lennon the player, don’t underrate Neil Lennon the manager” screamed the headline while Shaun squeaked “I just think he was a very underrated player” and “But, obviously, with his record in the league games it was something he was doing right.”

Shaun was promoting Celtic’s summer school for kids. He’s waiting on his Mum sending back his permission slip for him to attend.
