Coffee & Tv: Celtic v Motherwell The Goal And Welsh Beef.

|

That was what is known in the business as a “hard watch”.  Celtic started well but the wind blew them out like a crisp poke getting caught in a bush. This game should have been a goal feast but like most things Celtic make it more difficult than it should be.

Kayal and Juarez must have annoyed the manager and ended up as unused subs. Begs the question what does Scott Brown need to do to end up a unused sub.  I reckon that it would need to involve kittens, a pillow case and a river.

Daryl Murphy spent the game being as dangerous as a butter knife. I remember Chris Killen scoring at the Fir Park Midden as well. It was a collectors item. Daryl should start a scrap book.

I had the unfortunate pleasure of watching the game in the company of people who get their football knowledge from the Real Radio Phone In. I now remember why I stay in my padded cell to watch matches I don’t attend. For the benefit of idiots, it was a penalty but a harsh sending off.

Coffee & Tv MOTM: Joe Ledley. He was tidy, workmanlike and impressive. He also was a nark. It was like someone had stole his sheep. Keep up the good work, son.

    Overall MOTM Ratings.

    Ledley 1
    Brown 1
    Maloney 1

I’ll maybe get a wee trophy for the winner. My restraining order that keeps me out of Lennoxtown maybe up by the end of the season.

I don’t get all this Scott brown criticism!! I think he has been fantastic the few matches this season. Great work ethic, hard as fuck, good going forward and great at breaking up play! Slowly but surely stepping up to his potential.

      @ Pat @Alex

What I getting at is Scott Brown has been just as cupable as anyone for the last 2 seasons disasters but never gets dropped. Wasn’t a criticism of his performance today. Though I would shed no tears if he left. We need to clear the club of guys tainted by gutlessness.

Browny has an engine on him like no other player in the SPL and hes stepping up a gear and will get even better.

As for Maloney, he was exceptional and was buzzing about the ‘well defence causing them lots of hassle.

Wasn’t the greatest match to watch but honestly I can say I didn’t feel like my heart was coming out of my mouth with anxiety like in the reigns of mowbray and strachan. I think when the team settles with the tactics etc we will be a decent oiled machine.

Forster looked content and did a good job also. It’s Looking bright and far from the shite of thursday night. Positive signs are showing.

Mission accomplished with 3pts. Before the match I thought it was going to be a 4-4 thing again…

Liked the look of the new goalie (although never under much pressure – kickouts were good and Loovens can testify that he doesn’t pull his punches).
And Emilio: a LB at last? Done very very well for a guy just off the plane from sunny Honduras and shuttled directly to darkest Lanarkshire.

Skoosh did ok – I honestly feel we need players like him when we go to places like the Quagmire. Should never be captain tho (but difficult to say who should?).

Murphy? I don’t know first time I’ve seen him, but reminded me of a slightly better version of Killen. Like his confidence for taking the spot kick tho. We definately need a goalscorer/poacher – nothing new there then.

Shaun was good in patches. Paddy is special, lights up the place whenever he comes on.

This group of players are still getting to know each others names, and the revolving door is still spinning. It’s going to take time, but the gut feeling is that it could just about work.
