Coffee & Tv: Celtic v Utrecht – The Goals (Help Wanted)

|

The sign in the window says help wanted. Due to an internet speed reminiscent of a turning Stan Varga, I can safely say that I saw nothing of that game. Fecking cost me £1.99 to. So, what’s the story morning glories? Good game?

I caught most of the game and was at times very impressed and ‘only’ very satisfied the rest of the time. Good link-up, imaginative passing and plenty chances created. Juarez, Ledley, Cha and Kayal (looked VERY good) are really looking like brilliant signings. It was a refreshing and very satisfactory game. Long may this continue- HAIL HAIL!

  • Michael D says:

    – Oh, and Danny the big swede looked (and played) the part very much so too. Things are coming together all through the team. Exciting times indeed!

“very impressed and only very satisfied” last time I heard that was before the polis took away my hard-drive.

looks like we may drown in a wave of optimism over the next few days then…

Plus without any evidence of performance Cool Hand Luka and a clean sheet seems impressive.

Big Dan was immense and exactly what the doctor ordered for the Celtic defense. It was just a really solid match from the Bhoys that bordered on great. We controlled the match pretty much from whistle to whistle. While we did have some nervy moments at the back early on we deserved the clean sheet and I am very hopeful for what the future may bring with guys like Juarez and Kayal. We have set ourselves up very nicely though for the second leg in Holland.

One word of caution, it appeared that Kayal signaled that he needed to be subbed off tonight. Hopefully it was not because of injury.

Haha, true. I always try to be optimistic when the team’s going through the early steps. Still work to do but my optimism has me thinking good times are ahead. But you’re right, the media and a lot of fans will get too excited by the result but i’m sure you’ll be happy when/if you see highlights of the quality we showed. Clean sheet again is very comforting too. Forrest came on and again looked like an unfinished masterpiece- very promising. But i’ll take deep breaths and calm down because still got a potentially tricky away game to come.

    @ Boulder Bhoy

Lennon said that he hoped it was just muscle fatigue and nothing serious.

Can we whisper that Lenny has bought some ‘decent’ players….?

Rest assured my modem will be spending the night in the basement with the gimp.

My thought is this games not done.

  • Michael D says:

@BoulderBhoy Totally agree. I don’t think Kayal was hurt too bad but it’d be a blow if we lost him after that brilliant debut. I think most or all of the players will take a lot of confidence and satisfaction from this game and it was good to see all the head-patting and handshakes amongst the players throughout the match. … can you hear that?? Sounds like thunder!

Great atmosphere tonight..kayal, jaurez and the swede fantastic.,… still we average about 3 goals each away game its not over yet lol

  • Sean says:

Thunder brewing? Majstorovic solid? Kayal, Cha, Juarez light up the park a bit? Team cohesion nigh? YES

And all the press care about is weiss and bellamy not coming to Celtic Park…negative press…again.

Heres a headline for you ignorant biased slimeballs in the anticelt press:-

“1st leg? Check. Utrecht Decked. 2nd leg? Win? We expect.”

No doubt their focus will be something like “Utrechts brave spartans to overcome defecit against pish useless hapless hopeless weissless bellemyless bhoys in 2nd leg…” or something similarly NOT positive and biased to that effect.

My positivity is on the hoops to hold onto the tie and maybe work on it away from home and go through.

Weiss would have held back the juggernaut that is James Forrest. Remember me to check his record at Bolton.
