Coffee & Tv: Off White Celts, Still 3 Points . Goals + Highlights

|

Another game that like trying to work out what colour of bucket you put Pop Tarts packaging in gives your grey matter a serious work-out when you just want to put the rubbish out and get back in for daytime Tv.

What bucket does this game go in? The one that is collected on the Monday marked “It was three points”. It’s getting quite full.

It started so well. Early goal, workate of hyperactive soldier ants and the promise of a few goals soon faded. It was almost as if they felt sorry for the team who were being served up as cannon fodder. Hopeless long high balls – threatened air space rather than Hibs backline – were on the menu as the ‘pass and move’ was replaced with ‘hit and hope.’

Our first goal was how the game should be played. Quick thinking, powerful running and inventive. It was genuine bright spot. There was also a nice touch with Riordon’s goal getting some applause. This was a game that summed up the talent of Deek. Cloudy with a bright spot.

Even though the high water mark of the midweek performance was visible as the team splashed around in a pitiful amount of water and the groans were plentiful there is something different about this team. Lennon has something. Problem is I don’t think he knows what.

Undefeated in the league is impressive. Let’s cling onto that.

EA SPORTS MMA brings the authenticity of the world’s most intense combat sport home like never before.

    Trolls and idiots…..

When you are leaving abuse, sectarian, racist and just abusive comments, remember you put in your e-mail address, which I wont think twice of putting out for public consumption.

Plus, I get your IP address, the polis and your service provider might be interested as well.

Apart from the win, good things for me yesterday were the performances of Loovens, Mulgrew (before he we off injured at the break), Skoosh, Cha and Sammmy when he came on.

There, I’ve said it – never thought I would written those names under a “good things” label. But it’s true, I thought they were all pretty decent yesterday.

The MIB however did his best to put a spoke in Lenny’s wheel: i think it’s called “acting the goat”.

Speaking of which: “C’mon the sheep!!!”

Juárez te apoyamos desde México, la vida es un sueño no desistas en tratar de conseguir el tuyo. Buena suerte.

Was a damp squib, expectations were high after the 6 goals during the week and I thought we’d win comfortably. Hibs didn’t do much and we really made life difficult for ourselves with crap passing and no real creation.

Was expecting a lot more from Hooper, it wasn’t really his day! Stokes looked good, as did Juarez. Ki also had a decent game!

I find it interesting, if not surprising of those named as having good games. The team was poor. Lacked energy drive and seemed to suffer from a malaise. The ratings are out tomorrow, truth of the matter is I’m struggling for a motm.

Might put it to a vote.

  • Pujol says:

If you’re looking for a MOTM, it’s got to be Glen Loovens.

For the last week I’ve been offering to operate the bolt gun for the big heifer, but yesterday he was solid in the tackle, passed accurately and scored. Brown had one good half and one stinker, as did Ledley and Hooper.

I still don’t know about Stokes. I hope he’s just trying too hard, but he’s got a look of the “big star at a wee team” about him at the moment.

Glenda? Him and Danny weren’t troubled. Stokes was like a kid wailing Stop Crying Your Heart Out trying to impress Simon Cowell.

Chronic game, but I’m not arguing with 6 out of 6. Couple players out of their best positions stifled us. We’ll probably grind out more than a few like this during the season while Lennon runs the rule over the squad. Brown was playing well and then reverted to headless chicken pishdom. Stay in position FFS ! Loovens IMHO needs to go. He’s not got the mentality to deal with the pressure here. Better today, but he gets dicked and outmuscled far too often. I do think Forster has been a real plus (Riordan’s goal was a bit of a freak). Great attitude and communicates well with the rest of the defence..not that they listen. It’ll be a shame if he gets called back.

A bit biased maybe, but my vote goes to Cha. Only saw second half mind you (first half cancelled as they were showing the end of Korea v Mali at women’s basketball – raging) but his running and crossing were good. Juarez did well to get in the box but should have buried that header. Thought we looked threatening down the right but on the left, it looks like Maloney’s season is taling off already.

I thought Ki struggled for 10-15 then came on to a decent game. Don’t know if he’ll ever get to grips with the “hurly-burly” of the SPL but he rarely gives the ball away.

  • Wildrover says:

I think Maloney’s best played through the middle esp. in the absence of a good overlapping fullback. Lacking support there I feel he’s overwhelmed a bit. More centrally is where he’s shone this season. Juarez too I think is better in the middle where he can drive at the defence. Lacking dedicated wingers like McGeady, our width comes more from the fullbacks..Izaguirre was missed in that sense. Agreed on Ki, he’s good in possession, stronger than he seems and I’d like to see more of him but I think that’s unlikely to happen. Cha has a bit of the Skoosh headless chickens about him. He’s all over the place, but my view may be mired by my like of Hinkel. I thought he was the best crosser of a ball at CP over the last couple of years and a very under appreciated player.

    @Wildrover

Can’t disagree with that. Is a wee bit of a worry that our natural wide players such as McCourt and Forrest seem injury-prone – apparently Forrest had a few with the u19s as well.

Still, 6 out of 6 and momentum (hopefully) building.
