****Strike Goes Ahead, P45’s In The Post****

|

So, The Clowns have decided to back the disgraced and the liars. The SFA state that despite promises to bring in tougher sanctions to protect the mollycoddled morons they have still decided to withdraw their services (sic).

Why did they not just offer them more money? Update: Statement is here

The question has to be asked is what foreign will come to ref in this country in the face of such vitriol from a press that will call them scabs and in light of the gross exaggerations and lies regarding the reasons for the strike. Yes, your integrity is being being questioned as you, as one body, one mind and one vacuum- where a soul should be- have not thrown out confessed liars and backed your boss in the cover up.

You are as guilty as them. All your positions are untenable, which seems to be the buzz word of the moment.

Hopefully the letters marked: “Services no longer required” have been franked to be sent out today.

The entire situation is laughable. Ref get’s caught cheating/lying, forcing a linesman into early retirement and Celtic are expected to let it go? We all know how long we’ve been getting shafted…this time we have THEM by the balls and don’t let the media tell you otherwise!

    We shall prevail.

    • lordofthewing says:

They can’t seem to grasp what the complaints are about. Mind you they don’t see most things.

  • O'Cahan says:

Why did the Referees decide to strike. They say that some of their officials have received threata and been subjected to constant abuse , the finger is being pointed at,once again at Lennon, Reid and of course Celtic supporters, no one else. If they think a strike will solve this, they are being hood winked by their commander in chief Dallas, who is fighting to save his job, as is McDonald who has been garanteed a seat on the Referees committee, when he retires, as a reward for services rendered.
Dallas being the bully that he is, has demanded all officials to tow the line, or else its Div 2 for them ,never to surface again.Cant blame them for wanting to stay on the gravy train.
SFA CEO Regan must be wondering just what he can do,now realising just how many masons there are embedded into the SFA.
When did you ever see the day when an employer condons and supports its employees for going on strike….. laughable

  • Bobo says:

Neil Lennon kicks the season off by stating he wants his players to be in the officials faces. In other words try to bully them and affect their decision making processes.
Lennon himself sets the tone with his snarling confrontations with the fourth official, and of course he’s ably supported by that other face of reason, Alan Thompson. These guys don’t argue with or debate, they hurl invective, accuse, insult and villify. Nice way to get officialdom onside.
Are the refs at fault? Yes, for going on strike. Do they make mistakes? Yes, every last one of them, they’re human after all. Are they cheats and conspirators? Get a life guys. Celtic have had more penalties awarded in all domestic competitions than any other club in the country, not just in the Premier league, but in the entire history of league football.
Are the SFA at fault? Definitely, for not taking action when Celtic players and management outright accuse individuals, teams and organisations of cheating, usually when they’ve just lost. Remember Sutton accusing Dunfermline of lying down to Rangers. That was a gross insult to a team, its manager and supporters, and which should have drawn punishment. A clue as to Suttons, and generally Celtics mindset, was also revealed at the same time when Sutton accused Gordon Marshall of forgetting where he came from when he saved, guess what!! a penalty awarded to Celtic in a league decider.
The SFA are also at fault, as the governing body, for not introducing tv replay technology. The cheating in football isn’t done by refs or officials. It’s done all day every day by the players themselves, by diving, shirt tugging, professional fouling and claiming throw ins and corners they know they’re not entitled to. Managers moan and complain about decisions going against them but you never see one of them, player or manager, refusing the award in their favour. Most managers adopt the viewpoint that some you win, some you lose. Celtic have always been cheated though.
Should McDonald go? Definitely, he lied and got caught. Did he get the penalty decision wrong? Definitely, but he got it right eventually and gave the drop ball. TV replays clearly showed it.
Should Dallas go? No, he made a private joke that found its way into the public domain. How many of us have joke texts and e-mails on our phones that we know would offend some?
If one of the foreign officials makes a mistake that goes against Celtic will he be cheating as well?
    Can’t wait.

Not got time at the moment to answer or shot holes in your points but I need to ask are you Ewan Cameron and do you maybe have a team that you don’t feel embarrassed to support? Womans netball prehaps.

What a load of tabloid tosh, you sir are an uncle Tim.

    • lordofthewing says:

The only question I’m going to pose as you went to a lot of trouble writing a script for Radio Clyde is this

Hugh Dallas, covered up the lie. Why shouldn’t he go?

  • Bobo says:

My apologies Lordofthewing, if Dallas did cover it up then he should indeed go for that. No need for a dodgy e-mail to do the trick, especially as there was collateral damage. I wouldn’t mind knowing a bit about the punter that fired him in for the e-mail.
Take your time to get your aim right, if I’m wrong I’ll say sorry and retract the claim about the stats, but as for the rest, I don’t see how any unbiased viewpoint could find anything to disagree with.
By the by, as I type this I’m watching live footage of the best team game of them all, yep, CRICKET!!! A game thats been played competitively twice as long as football and is as establishment and conservative as you can get. Doesn’t stop them from using technology to arrive at the right decision though. The players get broken fingers, wrists, arms and ribs regularly. A five and a half ounce , rock hard ball is frequently aimed at their throat and head. You never see them writhing on the ground or feigning injury. They go to hospital for repairs then get on with the game. In this respect football and footballers have a lot to learn. Supporters too.

  • Bobo says:

    P.S. Who’s Ewan Cameron?

  • bobo says:

Well well well, a perfectly good goal chopped off and the silence is deafening. A stonewall penalty against Celtic is ignored and not a murmur. The only person to step forward is a “source” close to the Celtic board. Unfortunately all he has to say comes across as gloating and smug self satisfaction. A root and branch reform of Scottish football is required trumpeted this font of wisdom, but no suggestion as to what that should be. Dallas’s conduct was reprehensible, McDonalds position untenable. This from a man who makes his living from defending, and being a mouthpiece for, the worst scum in society. Good old Paul McBride, a man to rank alongside that numpty from across the city, Nicholas Fairbairn.
Since the conspiracy theorists typically ignore any evidence which contrdicts their theories then why not put the matter beyond doubt and use technology to assist. The SFA now have an opportunity to take the lead in world football. Go for full time professional referees along with technology and bring some credibility back to our game.
Have you gone back to college Lordofthewing?

    • lordofthewing says:

I’m sure Mr McBride said that the SFA needed to be transparent and not a warren of committies , blazers and old codgers. Having a go at McBrides profession is clutching at straws, he’s a lawyer John Reids a war criminal Peter lawwell is a cock. We all have crosses to bare.

Your ideas are doable. I’m sure we will waste tax payees money on think tanks that will love suggestions like that before ignoring them. Why are you so against us changing the face of the game as we know it?

I’ve been well removed from the education system. A craft cheese slice was in the server and I’ve been putting a toilet in my igloo.

  • Bobo says:

20 full time paid officials. Give them £1500 per week, paid for by the clubs. Buttons compared to the footballers. Annual cost £1.500,000. Subtract current cost of £800 per game for the ref, don’t know what a linesman gets but it’ll surely be several hundreds.
Use a 4th official to review play leading up to goals and major incidents. American soccer has half a dozen umpires at each game and they still use t.v. review.
Any official regularly falling below standard appears before a panel of club representatives who can downgrade him or bullet him if needs be. This takes the SFA, whom nobody is happy with, out of the equation.
Doesn’t matter who an official supports, £75,000 p.a. isn’t to be sneezed at and nobody will put that at risk by giving a dodgy decision that can be discredited immediately.
No more conspiracy theories, no more diving and cheating (says it all about the SFA when they call it simulation).

  • Bobo says:

Oops!! Shoulda said Donald Findlay, not Nicholas Fairbairn. Surprised nobody picked that up.
Anyway, still waiting to get perforated LOTW.

    • lordofthewing says:

Unsure why you want me to shot holes in you Bobo, I agree that the MIBS should be professional. Unsure about the technology but I think that is only a matter of time before that happens. Some multi-national will get into Blatters head and one swiss bank account later we have goal line technology.

We are co-conspirators Bobo on different end of the spectrum and linked by a fibre optic cable. Not so different.
