Hooper Feels The Pain, Like Us.

|

When Gary Hooper got injured it was seen as our season ending in certain quarters. His 6 weeks lay-off is only a blessing as it could have been a lot worse. His replacements are not up to scratch.

Samaras hasn’t scored a league goal from February and seems as pre-occupied as a man looking at colour schemes for a new flat. DFS has a decent sale on the adverts tell him. Murphy, is a Sunderland reserve who has scored two penalties this season. When they were rolled out as a partnership against St Johnstone it’s was no surprise that Girl Guides selling home-made tablet seemed more threatening.

Stokes has a decent goal scoring CV. Laid low with a virus has saw him miss a few weeks but now his absence has me wondering dark thoughts of fall-outs and underlying reasons for his dropping.

Murderwell come with their self styled Family Club image. They have spent an age fannying about trying to appoint a lackie and come to us on the back off two meek surrenders.  Their players seem worried that since they can no longer see Paw Broon that he maybe banging their WAGS. Frankly them and their helium fuelled rotund chairman bore the living daylights out of me.

As Video Celt points out here Celtic have used 46 players in 2010 and 22 players have made debut this year. These stats make our unbeaten start to the season even more impressive. Lennon is sitting with a 75% win record in his first job in management. If he was sitting anywhere else, say, The Championship, there would be those screaming that he should be our next manager with those stats.

We may struggle tonight. But the figures show we are doing far better than we should be.

Cannae understand why you compare The Championship to the SPL LOTW.

We are Celtic and although we should never expect to win every game we should expect to have players who after being properly scouted and trained and very well paid should win more games than most.

I accept that maybe the urge to be negative on Lennon is too much but i also feel we deserve alot more than we’ve been getting recently and in that i don’t blame Lennon but those who appointed him and his backroom team and those who scout for players.

What I meant was if Lennon was managing in the championship no comparison was being made.
