The Fail ran with the story this morning. Christian ‘Chucho’ Benitez has went from Birmingham’s undisclosed record signing to a loan player scoring 3 goals in 30 games after unforeseen knee problems were discovered in the medical. The stirker plays for our Mexican partner club, Santos Laguna and has recently signed a new 3 year deal with them.
Makes proclamations of him signing a pre-contract a little far fetched. Yous Tube!

Would rather have our current strikers, every day of the week thanks.
Hes gash!
can run a bit fast….but so could Forest Gump…
So can sunday morning ‘number 2’s’.
Forest Gump is not real! Benitez is Real and would be a step down in his career if he moves to the SPL. He’s the top scorer in the mexican league with 16 goals. Who is the top scorer for Celtic? Rangers? and how mwny goals have they scored?
Kenny Miller has 21 goals for R#ngers but that’s a freak of nature.
Good, that settles it then!! Benitez should stay in Mexico! I don’t think the SPL is good for him and obviously there are far better strikers in Scotland….. the only problem is that I have only heard of one (K Miller) and he’s wanting to leave the SPL for an italian team….. I wonder why?
Anyway, not many southamericans have managed to “adjust” their game to the scottish way of playing football and be a sucess in the SPL. However, the english premiership, La Liga Espanola and la serie A Italiana are full of them.
Buena Suerte Amigos!
This twitt makes any justice to Christian, currently he is one of the greatest strikers in America. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXTPQtzzzm8
I heard that he’d scored 30 goals in 3 games..and that his knees had been voted healthiest on the planet…just shows you the lies people tell…
where did I get my information ??…..
An E-Mail from Hugh Dallas…
Benitez is far too much of a good player for the SPL. He will get bored scoring goals against the likes of spl teams. The spl is too slow and without technique. I get bored watching spl games! There’s nothing exciting and the quality of the goals scored is dire! Benitez should stay in Mexico!!
How good is the Mexican league? That good that the MLS needs border control.
Yes his record for Birmingham doesnt make good reading but whenever I saw him play on the tele he seemed very lively and pacey as fuck which is what our fontline is missing at times when were trying to stretch a game. Doubt we can afford him though.
we have a tie up with his current club. cheap as chips or a loan deal…
