5 Post Match Findings, Facts And Thoughts From Sunday

|

This seems to be in fashion at the moment so I thought I would jump on the bandwagon. Ok, I know it’s a bit late but that won’t surprise regular blogistas.

1. I checked the BBC weather, I they never said anything about thunder in the East End of Glasgow on Sunday afternoon. It caused thousands of animals to hide in doors, under beds and in cupboards. The rumble was either the sound of 53,000 enjoying themselves immensely or the balance of power being shifted.

2. The focus has been on David Weir but all of the R*ngers team were as mobile as a sedated hippo. Though, sedated hippos can be quite dangerous if they fall on you.

Kyle Bartley, who reminded me of a commander in the ‘Return Of The Jedi‘, tried to take on the role of chief cunt in the absence of McCooluck. His ‘statement of intent‘ on Brown was openly mocked. He looked every inch of a ‘wonderkid’ released from his year long deal at Sheffield United.

3. Tactical novice Lennon has dropped our top goal scorer in the last three games against them. We have scored 7 goals in those 3 games. Stokes surely can’t have any cause for complaints? Plus in those three games he has used 3 different systems. Still not worth a contract, eh?

4. The signing of Diouf has seemed to derail them instead of galvanising them. He is certainly no team player. It was nice to see him stay out of trouble yesterday by completely disappearing after throwing his rattle out the pram at the ineptness of his team mates.

5. Kayal, Hooper and Lizzy McGuire I wouldn’t be booking any tattoo sessions to show your love for these players. That’s our summer transfer budget. Though, have you wondered if we will be able to hold onto Mulgrewbuer?

all or at at least one are next seasons transfer budget….I was going to get Lizzy tattoo’d on my arse too.

  • Jack says:

    Just can’t get enough………just can’t get enough…….

You really expect Celtic to allow Kayal, Emilio and Hooper to leave so soon? That’s crazy talk. These guys are part of this promising, young squad for a few years yet! I’d be surprised… actually i’d be furious and baffled if Celtic sell any of those 3 players. Mulgrew will also stay. Celtic threw away a position of strength not so long ago by not buying more quality players, surely they’re not going to risk that again by getting rid of the quality we have now! Be positive! Hail hail!

Emilio and Kayal will be on peanuts. Celtic will or should be looking to improve their contracts in the summer. Lawwell admitted last week that asset management is how the business will be run. Expect the unexpected.

If anything close to McGeady money is offered for any of those players we will be dancing the dance.

  • Bhoy oh Bhoy says:

I agree that we should offer them improved contracts now, but i doubt that will happen. Kayal definitely seems to be loving being a part of the new revolution and i see him at Celtic for at least another season or 2. I’m sure these guys would rather be a part of this squad than play elsewhere for more money, and i hope the suits realise that the pennies will be flooding in next season anyway without having to sell any of these guys. I’d expect 4 or 5 others to go before our star players. Just my optimistic thoughts, mind.

    • lordofthewing says:

If we win the league season book sales will increase but not to the levels of before. Squad players need to go but others may look at Scott Broons monsterious contract and say they want a bit of that. Even Broon may have to look elsewhere if he wants to stay accustomed to his level of wages.

Broon could go. Last year of his contract and that.

  • Jay says:

Keep these Bhoys please!!! Just give them a run in Europe next season!!! It could be great!!!?

    • lordofthewing says:

      Qualifying could be tricky!

      • arniebhoy says:

surely it would be a whole lot more tricky to qualify without said players? the board will anger many fans if they let any of those guys leave. improved contracts for all mentioned with extensions would be the best way forward. keep them for at least another season and then consider selling for more money than previously suggested on longer contracts.

  • Gerard says:

800% markup on the combined total cost will see Izzy Kay and Hoops leave in the summer!

Sad fact of life i’m affraid.

  • Bhoy oh Bhoy says:

Fair point Lord, but i really hope we keep all our top players… and that includes Broonie. He’s been playing his best football for a while now in his new wide role and i’m sure he’d be more than happy to lead this team out for years to come. Guys like Murphy, Ljundberg, Juarez, Cha and even McCourt and Samaras are much more likely to be moved on (in my opinion). Celtic could rake in a tidy wee sum by selling 2 or 3 of those guys and along with european football, ticket sales and a cash prize for becoming SPL champions they’re should be no need to sell our star players…. i hope!
