‘Cheap’ Forster To Join The ‘Hurt’ Brigade?

|

thecelticblog wants to know if the divorce rate increases during International weeks? This one seems to have lasted an age, already……

The Celtic players seem to have been on a loop of despair this week. Mark Wilson say’s that ‘it will hurt for a few days‘, Charlie Mulgrew was ‘devastated‘ and Joe Ledley said is was ‘the worst moment of his Celtic career‘. I find it difficult to have any sympathy for them as if they had bothered to turn up we wouldn’t need to listen to the constant drone of ‘taking it on the chin and moving on‘. I had enough of that last season.

I think everyone is still a bit down‘ mused Fraser Forster. He must be guessing as I reckon he will be the only first-team squad member left there. These lonely days may become a regular occurrence if reports that we are looking to seal a ‘cheap deal‘ for the stopper.

Cheap deals‘ usually come in plain packaging or are past their sell-by-date not with a £2m price tag. In football terms they come attached to Bosman rules.

Is that figure a ‘cheap deal‘ for Double F? I’m chaffing like a Broke Back Mountain Cowboy with this one. The man wears that look of a gangsters henchman who gets sent to do the simple jobs but seems to lack any personality or presence to move up the chain. He seems to use his height as a disadvantage, not for the greater good and is uncomfortable with it.

On the other hand, I have seen him produce some wonder saves this season that made me forget that The Holy Goalie even existed. He’s kept us in games and won us points. But, as has been pointed out every keeper is a great shot stopper…..

Forster’s young for a keeper, and will get better. I’d be happy to keep him, and let him be one of the guys we build the 2014 Champions League winning team around…

He’s also 6’7″, which is something that can’t be learned!

I Like Big Forster.I Thought At First That He Didn’t Command His Area Well Enough For A Giant But He Seems to come for catches much better now and indeed caught a fair few on Sunday that most would flap at. being so big he can’t get down to the low shots as quick as Artur and I don’t think he is too clever when the ball is played to him at pace. he also isn’t very quick.

I wouldn’t be against signing the big man but I think we can do better. there is no doubt he has filled in well after the poor start to the season Zaluska had.

He seems embarrassed by his height at times. Coll Hand Luka has looked like the Polish Mark Brown.

Stupidity in the extreme pujol, i cringed reading that.

Hes not good enough, he shoudl leave along with Reid, Lawwell and Lennon.

    W McStay for Celtic manager

yer want rid o lennon now? did you want rid o him 3 weeks ago? I think not..

I’d sign him. He’s probably at the top end of the list in terms of what we can actually afford. Last week’s error was unfortunate but no-one covered themselves in glory. The keeper, unfortunately, often looks like the biggest dick on the park when he makes a mistake. Considering he’s relatively inexperienced and been thrown straight into a team with some of the highest expectations in the world, I think he’s done rather well.

Talking of him looking like a dick when I see him I’m reminded of Peter Crouches ‘virgin’ joke.

  • SFTB says:

It’s our attack stats away from home that we need to fix.

Fraser Forster is a good young keeper. Some uninformed English rag quoting a £2m price tag does not make it so.

Maybe, like Adam Virgo, the fee will rise to £2m only if he wins the Grand National with BFDJ as a jockey?

In the Scottish cup replay the best hope Rangers had was Zaluska doing something silly. He looks too laid back. I prefer Forster, he`s done well!
