The Good, The Bad And The Ugly Of United At Home

|

The Good

We have a game. It seems like an age since we last took to the pitch. I wish we had a game in the midweek there and I’m glad we have games coming thick and fast now. Hopefully we can build momentum, this week has seen a lot of talk of tunnel vision, no pressure and in our own hands.

Early tomorrow afternoon this talk becomes action. I can’t wait.

The Bad

No matter your take on last weeks draw we had a chance to ease the pressure, which we didn’t take. This will mean that people will be looking out lucky underpants and socks from now to the end of the season. Lennon went horses for courses last week and it weakened us.

I have said it on numerous occasion that I have questions about Commons overall contribution to the team but what is now clear is his value to this team. Him, Stokes and Hooper are a sort of Holy Trinity that seem to allow us to become a big toothed, savage, attacking beast and not that sleekit beastie that Lennon wanted us to be last week.

The injury to Ledley is a major blow. Lennon needs to forget his previous flirtations with the Moggaesq 4-2-4 and look more to a solid midfield 3 for all remaining games. Ki, Kayal and Broonie are first picks. We need to hope suspensions, injury or lose of form hit them.

The Ugly

This has become something of a grudge match. Their manager is a bit of a loudmouth no-mark that looks like Darth Vader with his mask off. He seems to have a hatred of all things Celtic, or lets be frank, all things Lennon. Dundee United used to be one of those clubs we just sort of didn’t bother about and loved scoring last minute goals against.

They now poke the dislike button, which is all down to him and that despicable oik David Goodwullie who models himself on wedding guests he see’s on My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding. Make no mistake they can take points from us. They only seem to lay down to R*ngers.

The Celtic Blog Bet

Hooper anytime scorer and Celtic 2-0.

A win on Sunday is all I can think of. Come on the Celts!

In fairness they didnt exactly lie down to them at Ibrox. In fact I make it 7 points from 9 against them this season including 2 away wins for us with Rangers only managing 6 from 9 including a home defeat. I can’t stand Peter Houston but I do think its a little wide of the mark to say they lie down to Rangers after that Ibrox match.

point taken but any manager that has had a 7-1 defeat and two 4-0 defeats – this season – I think can be questioned esp when they arnt exactly crap.

Murderwell on the other hand can be accused of downright cheating.

celtic coped well without ledley against kilmarnock away winning 4-0 and playing some of our best football this season, of course he has been an important player but that’s why mr lennon has stated the importance of having 2 players for each position, broony \o/ has been playing on the right wing so we just bring him centre and put wee forrest there, still have the option of going 3 in the middle with ki. dundee are not shite but celtic will never have a bigger motivation to beat them and i fancy us to come out all guns blazing. 2 early goals PLEASE!!!!!! lol… no matter what, mr lennon will undoubtedly have the measure of fat sally for the next 3-4 seasons until they can afford to get a REAL MANAGER in at castle greyskull.

I would keep Broonie on the right.Bringing him inside unbalances the team

      • TJ Hooper says:

Couldnt agree more. Kayal can hold on his own – hell he’s a one man midfield sometimes anyway! Ledley gives us great balance on the left though stepping across when Izzy is pelting forward, which is most of the time 😀

Its not really Commons best job so if Ki steps in he’s going to have to be smart about positioning.

Im advocating going 433 with a tight middle 3. The holy trinity up top will create more than enough.

      • lenny4myth2 says:

broony centre midfield, forrest on the right! .. lol

  • lenny4myth2 says:

    ps ONE NEIL LENNON!
