The Good, The Bad And The Ugly Of Neil Lennon.

|

We are all Neil Lennon

Usually these The Good, The Bad and The Ugly things takes a pithy look at what will happen at the weekend. This weekend is different. We all know the good is we might win the league. The bad is we might lose the league. The ugly is Stuart McCall looking like a fat Mrs Doubtfire after years of bad botox and drinking bleach.

Sunday, will be a celebration no matter what. A celebration of Neil Lennon and Celtic. I can’t wait.

Welcome to the Thunderdome.

Neil Lennon deserves all the support we can give him this Sunday no matter what and the new season we should seriously consider once and for all boycotting ALL away games we all need to make a stand ,a real stand , hit those who attack us in the pocket.

i agree completely, we cant sit back and take this lying down anymore. the 1st away games at hearts and rangers next season need to be boycotted, it’s not fair on our players to miss our support but we all know nothing will change, its been proven time and again that we are banging our heads against a brick wall, and until we stand up and start fighting back we will continue to be walked over by scottish football. our supporters reacted aggressively at swinecastle and let the club down. we are better than that. there are other ways, singing sectarian songs only damages our club, i understand people are angry, but why hurt our own club? lets start hurting the clubs not doing enough to challenge the racist bigoted hate campaign against us, the only way to do that is financially. please lets not resort to violence or anything else.

Boycotting away games would not in any way hurt Rangers. The 7000 tickets would be snapped up. It would certainly hurt Hearts and all the other clubs, but would in the long run hurt Celtic more. Teams need their support and Celtic are no different.

        • rfc+sfa=cheats says:

your right, i did read on a celtic forum it would be difficult for rangers to get the allocation back once given to celtic if the club wanted to be awkward. also mentioned was going it alone on sponsors, its believed celtic would get less money than having joint sponsorship but rangers would get less than celtic if both went independently. i would be willing to do that if it meant celtics concerns being taken seriously, you probably disagree, your entitled to that, but whoever or whatever celtic or rangers, hearts or the sfa believes is the cause of this, it doesn’t matter, everyone agrees scottish football needs a serious overhaul, rangers and celtic, the sfa have admitted it too. so everyone needs to start looking at the bigger picture, this sh!t can’t go on.

I think the technical difficulties in moving to another league would be insurmountable. The only ones that would make it worthwhile are the Premiership or the Championship, both in England and there are few teams in those leagues who would welcome one or both of the old firm.
You make a telling statement in relation to sponsors and how it illustrates the game in Scotland. That is that Rangers and Celtic need each other, especially in this league. Whilst the bile and hatred have completely overshadowed the football this year I don’t even want to contemplate a league without the ‘tic in it. A way has to be found to keep the rivalry and passion whilst eliminating the poisonous elements. I would fully support the appointment of an independent body to oversee the league to ensure fair play. In fact the role currently held by the SFA.
Whilst I don’t think Celtic are discriminated against I would be happy to have this form of oversight as a means of allaying the suspicions that Celtic fans have. It may well be that the old firm would have to pay for it but it would be worth it if it lanced the boil although I don’t know what it could do about any unfairness it might uncover.
Once more we come back to the SFA who are totally discredited amongst Celtic fans. Perhaps it should be dismantled and taken away from the hands of the club directors. Their rules and procedures are outmoded and amateurish, as you would expect when you hand the reins to part timers. Any overhaul of an organisation has to start at the top, which means enlightened management. Something you could never accuse the SFA of.

After doing my “tours of duty” for more seasons than I care to remember a few years back after a series of attacks by certain chairman I decided to boycott certain games and not give the clubs the money.

Motherwell, Kilmarnock and St Midden havent seen my money since.

      • lordofthewing says:

Oh, also R*ngers but that is to do with the pricing policy and the in kahoots both clubs are with this.

      • rfc+sfa=cheats says:

Dundee United should also be boycotted, when the Arabs Supporters Trust decided to report rangers for sectarian singing, (which as usual was not reported by any SFA delegates or match officials, who were keen to report Celtic and hearts), the Dundee United chairman came out all guns blazing saying the supporters group did not speak for the club and that Dundee United have a good relationship with rangers!!! You would seriously believe he would back his own supporters for doing the right thing and speaking out, but no, his main concern was letting rangers know it was not the actual club that “grassed them”. What kind of a chairman is willing to go against his own supporters and back opposition supporters who were singing racist and bigoted songs in his own stadium? The fear of upsetting rangers even when they are clearly in the wrong speaks volumes, absolute coward.

  • Kevin-Barry Causer says:

B(h)oycotting away venues is a very good course of action however I echo the sentiments expressed by Pujol (12:01am 13th May), if Lenny is driven out of the managerial hotseat by the feculent, inbred c*nts that roam around this country then Celtic should refuse to play another game, maybe my judgement is still clouded by rage but we cannot be dictated to by the mindless mob mentality.

    • rfc+sfa=cheats says:

The problem with that is nobody could even begin to guess at the consequences for the club, it’s unprecedented, could we then be kicked out of the league altogether? We most definitely need to take drastic action, if Lennon is terrorised out of Celtic would we be able to take legal action against the SFA for failing to protect him?
One of the 1st things we have to do is ban all media except those who we are obligated to by sponsorship, like SKY, from Celtic Park. Simple. Until they start treating the club and it’s supporters like human beings they should all be out, it should have been done a long time ago anyway.
Then we start to boycott certain away games, like hearts and rangers. Im at a loss as to how we can challenge the SFA, highlighting their blatant bias with UEFA, officially requesting they open an investigation into the SFA on racial and bigotry grounds would at least put the SFA in the spotlight.
We have work to do ourselves, the sectarian and the ira songs must stop completely if we want change

      • bobocop says:

Maybe it’s got something to do with the extra tenner a ticket these clubs levy on old firm fans

  • ianin440 says:

I wish I could boycott Radio Scotland! 🙁
Come on the Celts! I am Neil Lennon.

  • john west Belfast says:

Well said we have enough people trying to hurt our club ..we don,t need to help them

  • çèltìç1888 says:

Wow, what a season, and now we have a cup final to play. Lennon has had a great 1st season, especially considering the hate campaign, even yesterday rumours were being spread that a story was going to break thar rangers had cctv footage of Lennon racially abusing edu, then another one saying there were pictures to be printed in todays NOTW of Lennon taking drugs with a senior member of the ira, both rumours believed to have originated from a rangers supporters forum, this is the day before rangers were likely to win the league and Walter would be in charge of his last ever rangers game, and still many gers couldn’t focus on anything but smearing Lennon with lies. This is the 3rd time he has been wrongfuly and vindictively accused of racism against rangers players. He has certainly endured a lot. If he decides to leave i wouldn’t blame him, if he stays, i cant see next season being any easier on him, success will only infuriate those who spent this season foaming at the mouth at the mere mention of him.

    • bobocop says:

Heard this rumour and can’t believe it. Lennon is far from my favourite guy but I wont credit this on rumour. I just can’t see him doing it. Altercations, yes. Racial abuse? definitely not. The consequences if true would be unthinkable.

      • çèltìç1888 says:

Just another angle the bigots and racists are using to attack Lennon from in their hate campaign, nothing more nothing less.

      • lordofthewing says:

If Rangers had this ‘footage’ they wouldn’t have hung onto it. They are like a 12 year old with a jazz mag. Whitabootary.

        • bobocop says:

I think you underestimate Rangers LOTW. Hopefully there’s nothing to the story but if there were I would not expect Rangers to take it to the police unless they had to. I would think they would try to sort it out between the clubs.
Incidentally, libellous comments anywhere are actionable and these claims certainly damage Lennons, and thereby, Celtics reputation. Why don’t they sue and prove them malicious?

          • lordofthewing says:

I base my thoughts on previous handling of buffonary on and off the park. Their shame game whitabootery that seemed to forget that the teams had meet since after the game that annoyed them. Their quickness to highlight Chelsea, poor stewarding and policing anytime the support come to the notice of Eufa.

The failed catalogue model couldn’t hang on to this.

The suing. Well the website the rumour came from will soon be closed down as it’s a cesspit of bigotry.

        • bobocop says:

Been meaning to chin you LOTW on “whitabootery.” If one party to an argument denigrates the behaviour of the opposition then surely that second party are entitled to highlight suspect behaviour in the first party. If that happens then the first party should surely, if they are innocent, refute the allegations by means of reasoned argument and presentation of evidence. “Whitabootery” is a get out of jail free card you sly fox.

        • lenny4myth2 says:

bobo…. rangers would be legally bound to report any evidence of racism, Lennon has refused to even entertain the lying bigots agenda against him, 200 of these lying bigots lied and falsely accused him of racially abusing doof, then it was weiss and now it’s edu, it’s all part of the racist bigoted hate campaign aimed at Lennon since he joined Celtic. Lennon has refused to acknowledge these “peepil”, even refusing to face 2 of these animals who attacked him in the street in court, he did that to stop the morons believing they were in any way significant to him and rightly so.

          • lordofthewing says:

It’s a smear campaign. If they say it enough and it’s reported enough those that don’t know any better believe.
