The Insider Part 3 ‘In The Name Of The Transfer’

|

The InsiderWe have all by now heard the early musings regarding our intent to go for Spurs midfielder Niko Kranjcar and the news Turkish club Bursaspor are interested in Scott Brown.

The “obviously true” news of a Turkish call-out is possibly a follow up attack by our enemies in the “Scottish meeja” on the Bhoys purely because “Whittaker has been linked away so we will have to link a Celtic player away the noo”.

Call-outs by agents have come to the forefront also with Victor Wanyama another linked player and his agent have made the typical Celtic have come calling link. The intent behind the outburst is obviously to grab the attention of other salivating clubs wanting new blood.

Paella anyone? Well according to the beholders of the beige whispers aka bastions of the obligated truth – the daily red top rags – Celtic have come calling for once Spanish international Dani Aranzubia.

Dani, just relegated from La Liga with Deportivo La Coruna, is now looking for a club and he would allegedly cost £2.5 million. He sounds decent but alot of us Celts will shrug then word under our breaths “Hes not Given though is he”.

In news released on Twitter, Celtic linked, Jay Bothroyd had squashed some rumours by stating this peach: –

@jaybothroyd: Not sure where all the rumours are coming from but I honestly haven’t decided yet

Sky-bet have recently lowered the odds for Jay Bothroyd joining Celtic but with QPR sniffing with some swell financial backing, I can honestly say signing Bothroyd could be a struggle for us and Lenny could look elsewhere as we may be priced out of a wages war with QPR.

The Insider Celtic Confidential

This time of year transfer rumours run wild and I have my personal links in the mixing pot as such. I have has contact from a close friend, who is working behind enemy lines some might say, The Insider. He is back with a few delicious delights that may tantalise your transfer buds.

Since the last revealing part of The Insider, The Insider he has not been in touch with me much but in the last few days gone by he has given me a small list, not as crammed as before, but a small list of possible gems that could grace paradise.

I for one did not expect the following few players to be linked to us but whatever information he has passed to me I am here merely as the middle man who is providing what in, YOU, the Celtics public interest.

Again I say the words, here is what The Insider has for us this week, whatever is beyond this point is not of my opinion or comment, read on Bhoys and Ghirls: –

English, Defender, Wes Brown – Celtic have been tracking a wide variety and mixture of defensive options vast and quick due to the upcoming league fixtures next month. Wes Brown has come to the top of the pile, premiership experienced, travelled on his European trips with Man United and he can play at centre half and in the wide defensive positions. Everton want him but Celtic may steal him from under their noses.

English, Midfielder, Joey Barton – Bite, battle and another typical leader type of player that Neil Lennon goes for. Barton is capable of taking a game by the horns, his battling style would suit the SPL. Celtic have been looking at this calibre of player across the board, Joey would be a great addition to the Celtic mid-ground but he may only be transferred in should other  fringe players are moved off the Celtic pay list first.

Dutch, Defender, Daley Blind – Celtic have in place a few parachutes manouvres in case a defender is not signed. Son of Netherlands and Ajax legend Danny Blind, Daley would be available on loan from Ajax. Daley can play in the wingback positions.

French, Midfielder, Patrick Vieira – He could be another year project player similar to that of the Ljungberg type of contract. He will do a job for the Celtic midfielder but again if Lennon is wanting to put his own stamp on a Celtic team that goes on to win accolades season after season, Viera may not be the type of player to be called in. He does bring bags of experience that Kayal, Ledley, Ki and Brown could absorb.

English, Defender, Roger Johnson – Lennon may bring out the cheque book for Roger, he would be a revelation at Celtic and is the type of player that could stay a good few years. He will cost possibly between £4 million – £6million but he would be worth it and he would stabilise a shaky defence.

Well Celts that was all The Insider gave me this time to tickle your transfer tongues, he added that he will be back with a few more tasty bits and bobs of transfer tackle for us pretty soon.

As always Celts your comments are always welcome whatever they may be.

    Pish 🙂

All well out the weekly wonga restrictions we operate under. I’m sure Talksport stated that Wes Brown wasn’t going to Everton. Joey Barton? With the Goodwillie rumour – or wind up from Swanson- him and Barton would see our dressing taken over with misguided souls.

I think the insider could be on glue this week!

“Squashed some rumours.” I’d happily pay for this kind of comedy writing – is there a paypal button somewhere?

On the big name signings (I can’t comment on the others), I think it would show a serious lack of judgment by our management team to sign any of these players. Maybe Brown excluded, might be a good squad player, if he’s willing to take a huge cut in wages.

Viera moved to Man City for his last big pay day, and is absolutely nowhere near the level he used to play at. If he can’t be bothered in the EPL then I don’t see the SPL inspiring him much.

I will reiterate my complete contempt of big name loan signings. It’s pissing money up against a wall and is a strategy that has consistently failed to produce the required results for us. The management team proved that, last season, they have the potential to pick out a player. Let’s stick with that. I’m fed up with these pampered has-beens taking us for a ride.

Barton is of limited ability, could start a fight with a lamppost and would probably get sent off within 5 mins of his first game against Rangers. In any event, he’d probably get an absolute shoeing in Glasgow on his first night out for running his mouth.
