Brucehillbhoy Expects

|

Hello and welcome to the start of another rollercoaster season as a Celtic fan, its never easy and this season will prove no different, so if you thought you could sit back and enjoy the action of the next 9 months you’ll probably have to wait until next August when the DVD comes out depending on what actually happens…

Its been a long time since I was last blogging so I took the time off to think about the coming season ahead and what I would expect to see. I had been planning on watching Copa America then blogging a few top unknown gems Celtic could possibly tap into the market for…but ofcourse the quality has been absolutely shocking for a South American tournament I haven’t even bothered to watch sometimes.

Celtic travel to Hibs on Sunday to kick off what should be and hopefully be a very successful year for Neil Lennon’s side. We are in very good condition and it looks like we’ve kept all our most important players. Don’t panic that we haven’t been signing players because it was all agreed last season that this side was just one or two wee buys into becoming an excellent all conquering side. Victor Wanyama looks to be a very assured defensive minded midfield player, something that will be vital in big games alongside the ever combative Beram Kayal.

Yes we all dream of the big signing that cost that we can all get his name on the back of our strips, but we already have 4 or 5 players in that category. This team doesn’t need a big player, it needs players to compete for places pushing the already acclaimed stars to their limits to keep their places in the team. We need a competitive squad to produce a competitive 11 every weekend. Neil Lennon has shown before he’s not to be second guessed when it comes to the transfer months of June-August.

Ofcourse we need a goalkeeper, but with the prospect of an international class goalkeeper joining us in Pletikosa, every Celtic fan should be praying that Neil Lennon gives this guy a contract. He is a very good goalkeeper and is on a par if not better than Artur Boruc. I’ve followed his career closely and he is very highly thought of. Spurs missed a trick when they persisted with Gomes last season instead of throwing Pletikosa in. Everyone is saying ‘ah well he did nothing on wednesday night’ He’s playing against the likes of St.Mirren and Dunfermline this year, all he will usually be required to do is clean up at the back and he did that very confidently the other night.

So what do I expect of the next season? I will now identify 5 Predictions and lets see how many I get right over the coming months.

1. Celtic To Win The Treble

2. At Least Two Of Rangers ‘Five Year Contract’ Stars Will be Sold Before September 1st

3. Neil Lennon Will Be Constantly Linked To Vacant Jobs That Arise In The Premiership

4. Billy Davies Will Be Managing Rangers Before The 3rd Old Firm Game On The 23rd March

5.Hearts Split The Old Firm Pushing Rangers Into 3rd

Right well I’m away to the bookies with that list, and whilst we’re on the subject of predictions. Here goes round two of ‘year of constantly backing Ledley to score the first goal then he duly obliges with the second on most occasions’. Nah only joking, fully expecting Celtic to win very comfortably on Sunday by at least 3 clear goals and go on then, Joe Ledley will score the first goal.

….Oh it’s like I’ve never been away!

I can’t see Rangers getting near us this season, simply because we are better in every area except the goal keeper as it stands, if we are finally given a level playing field i fancy Butcher to be in by March instead of Davies as he would probably be the cheaper option, Hearts for 2nd behind us is a real possibility IF they want it enough, i don’t think the SFA has the audacity to use the standard bias anymore but ive thought that many times and be drastically proven wrong (Mcoist, Doof and Boughera escaping punishment even left Gers fans stunned and cringing).
All in all im more than happy with how we’re shaping up.

I agree that the XXL cheerleader may be gone this season but I am not making the mistake off writing of the evil that is R*ngers.

Whisper this, they are not a bad side in a domestic sense.

Plus we always seem to be waiting on the fire sale. It never happens as no-one is interested…

The lucky charms work their magic domestically for them. (lucky charms or as many people refer to them “referees”)

  • Good reading BrucehillBhoy, I enjoyed that.

You mention about how we dream for that big signing, if I’m honest it some times does my nut in every time a transfer window comes around when you get the non-stop bleating about a Keane or a Bellamy signing etc.

The desperation some times to get that No7 jersey filled blinds people’s judgement IMO. In this financial difficult time it just doesn’t make sense to throw around £60k a week on those types of players who knees have gone.

Give me 3 or 4 similar Izzy’s,Hooper’s,Commons & Kayals whom £60 k would pay all their weekly wages then after a few years of magic from them we go on & pick up £5-10 million selling them on.

    On your 5 points-
1)I feel we strong enough now to take the treble. We where so close to it last season, an extra time goal in the cup final if on a proper level pitch the ball it wouldn’t have bounced round to trickle over the line, and one point in the title, we had a better goal difference & Conceded the least amount of goals in British football, tiny little percentages cost us.

    2) 5 year Orc contracts, when I found out about Shaggers length of deal I instantly thought he doing a Petrov there, get that mob a decent transfer fee probably January time I’m going for.

3)It will not just be Neil Lennon linked with a move to the Epl, but probably 50% of our starting X1.

4)Billy ‘mouthy’ Davies’s swinger friend is getting out of the tin pale soon, an added incentive for the little scrote to return home when required to clean up the mess Comical ally has left behind before Xmas is my prediction

    5) Hearts will take the 2nd spot, for some reason I have faith in Stewart Regan & this guy Flemming who now on Dullarse’s old job to operate fairly, honestly and with integrity thus putting a minus 10 -15 points on the Orcs points.

    JCGE. Hail Hail

A lot of the people who shout for box office are idiots who think that we should be signing Messi. Champ manager fuckwits, I call them.

They don’t know how much a loaf costs never mind an EPL footballer with a WAG and a fleet of cars,
