No Arrests At The Dunblane Double Tree Stadium

|

It may have escaped some of your attention that last night our neighbours were playing a benefit match for long suffering former Stirling Albion Chairman, Peter McKenzie, who had personally invited the opposition.

During the game a Stirling Observer journalist tweeted that the Police had recommended that the game be stopped due to the sectarian singing coming from the visiting fans in the 1200 crowd. The home team gave two warnings over the PA about the behaviour.

A friend of the blog was at the game. They were bemused with the stooshie. They said:

“Apart from a pathetic attempt at being the Green Brigade and some fireworks their behaviour was just normal and nothing out the ordinary.”

Hence the no arrests then.

Did the police not attempt to drag some Celtic supporters from a crowd when a flare was set off by our supporters recently? im really shocked that the same thing didn’t happen with the Rangers fans yesterday, truly stunned, who would possibly have thought the police reaction would be so differently?

    • lordofthewing says:

They did at the Scottish Cup semi final. This wasn’t a flare. Seemingly it was a big banger. I thought Lafferty was in Germany too….

      • bhoylondon67 says:

I heard it was a flare bangers and smoke bomb on KDS i think it was. So Celtic supporters are waded into and snatched from their seats and Rangers supporters are begged over the PA to stop!?

I was just told fireworks. Don’t know if they had a £1.99 selection box

  • Joebhoy says:

I see the Scotsman have reported on the “flare” and the police involvement with that but absolutely no mention of any sectarian singing.
    Anyone else surprised?

    • lordofthewing says:

No, the hootsmon is in denial over a whole lot of issues. Plus, according to my source the fireworks only happened after they scored, which was well into the 2nd half.

  • Ciaran says:

Were Rob McLean or Pat Nevin not there to protect the public?

    • lordofthewing says:

Rob is writing a strongly worded letter to the Stirling Observer in jelly and Pat was listening to half man half biscuit at the time while playing subbetto with the drummer from Deacon Blue.

  • MikeyCroyBhoy says:

I think this sets the tone for next season.

Does anyone know what the 40 point guide is on behaviour?

If it’s acceptable at a Cup Final and receives praise from elected officials, then a two bit friendly counts for nothing.

They go to Linfield on Sunday (again!). What songs will the “opposition” fans sing to noise up there opponents?

  • Doc says:

why feel the need to write about it?

    • lordofthewing says:

Why not? Remember we have a game on Saturday v The Harry Rags. Watch the reporting.

  • chaz says:

scotlands shame v mingfield who are they gonny blame

  • Gannonball says:

You only need to go on you tube to hear the hatred they sung at the game, however this is no different to any other game for them. As for the flares, smoke grenades/bombs who gives a fuck really as long as theres no kids near by.

it’s just the begining,it’s a cert they’ll be at it all season & at most a handfull will be lifted. except may’be in europe UEFA will again be the only ones to act as usuall. only difference is hopefull they’ll only have a couple of games in europe. the msp’s, mp’s & cops will talk the talk but not walk the walk.

  • Liam says:

Can’t wait for their first European match. They just can’t help themselves.
