Coffe & Tv: Three Reason Why Fraser Foster Is Now Top Of Our List

A few weeks, or it could months, ago we put in a £1.5m bid for Fraser Foster. The deal was rebuffed with the line: “We want to see what he can do.” Well, the video below has shown the coaching staff at Newcastle what he can or in this case can’t do.

And we thought that Cool Hand Luka had blown his audition. If Newcastle were blocking our phone calls like they were Joey Barton’s tweets they will be actively seeking clarification if we are still interested.

When the bid went in I mused that Double F seemed like we were already looking at Plan C. He was a come back to what you know low risk signing. Not the best but he knows the club and the players know him. The coaching staff also know his weaknesses and a permanent deal could see them work on them.

I also stated that sometimes he was like a mute stoned giraffe.

After our baffling decision not to offer an experienced international goalie who was on a free a contract and Lennon making noises that a goalie will be signed this week, rumours are abound that another loan deal for Foster is on the cards with the main play being for another goalie based in the North East who gave me hours and hours of entertainment in a previous life who is available on a free next summer.

We seem to be still searching for a striker. Despite the clubs talking Craig Bellamy has stated that he has no interest in joining us. Can we end this now? The player annoyed me with his “think of the children” charity line.

I wouldn’t get away with saying to my employer that I need my wages topped up as I make a donation to a well known Glasgow brewery coffers every night of the week so why should we fund something that makes him also feel better about himself?

The board seem to think we are desperate for a Bellamy or a Keane. We’re not as a quick look at our squad suggests that we are looking for a 3rd choice striker not a 1st choice one.

We are looking for someone to replace Sammy. I made my case for Steptoes Horse in the last blog and the term squad player fits his box nicely.

your 100% right about well everything. we need a keeper in now, although the transfer window has a bit to go we need to get things settled ASAP if we don’t we face another year with no group euro footy (even if it’s the poor one). dig Danny was brought in really late last year & that affected europe. With FF we know he’ll do a job no risk. the Bellamy saga grew boring months ago & he would have been a risk, things could have been unsettled & he’s not the player of a few years ago. the media where so desperate there was the talk of him only turning up on game game, madness. not often i agree with everything but i think you should make a BBC styled apology right now? to steptoes horse, he would do a better job than Sammy. surely someone will take him & maloney PLZ
