Lennon Hits All His Targets

I fully agreed with our manager in the immediate aftermath of the game against St Johnstone. He seems to be able to hit the right ‘fan’ buttons when searching for that soundbite after games good our bad. After a few day’s I now say his assessment was harsh.

What I do agree with he said about those who bleat for chances. His bullets had names on them but he stopped short of shaming them. I always poured scorn on the sugestion that we had strength and depth. Ok, most of our team would be starters for every other SPL side but that doesn’t make them any good.

A lot of focus and attention get’s put on in-coming signings but our CEO also earns his corn getting good deals for the unwanted, the unloved and the mistakes. There seems to be a failing on this so far.

I reckon Lennon was bemoaning, Samaras, Maloney, Forrest and McCourt with his barbed comments. Though, I can’t shake the feeling that Stokes may also have been burned by them.

Let’s hope a Striker & a left back are on the way (i hate the silence on that front with the clock ticking) & hope we can silence the cocky cuckoos tomorrow.

… you say paddy was a target – why so -? there was more action from paddy in 15 minutes than the rest of the team for 90… he hit the post and dragged around half their defenders before being tripped/ bundled over at the last second…

he’s trotted out to save the day in 5 minutes then castigated when he doesn’t… neil should either give the boy a proper run or let him go.

why do you think the crowd rises up when paddy comes on – because he can provide something no one else can and reminds us of the thrill that we used to get watching the ‘tic.

I agree wholly with your paddy comments but i feel Lennon’s singling out of paddy for missing that chance then bemoaning players who knock his door wanting to play was aimed at him.

Maybe Lennon needs to look closer to home. The cutaways to the Celtic bench showed a group of guys who seemed short on ideas and had given up with 5 minutes left. The only idea (shared by the other 10 players) was give the ball to Paddy and see what he can do, but God forbid he hits the post!! (should’ve scored mind you)

Let’s hope they all get it together and make it past Sion tonight.
