The Good
It’s an European tie at Celtic Park. We maybe won’t get the same romantic setting off it being a floodlit theater, misted by the cold breaths of the watching thousands and usually played out in a Glesga drizzle but this is just as important as anything later when those conditions could be a weekly Channel 5 occurrence.
This is the biggest game of the season, so far. Progression is measured against Mobs who need their passports stamped. Our balance sheet has also been proved to need a few extra fixtures.
The Bad
Our record against Swiss mobs is woeful recently. FC Zurich, FC Basel and Neuchatel Xerox all send shivers down our collective spines. A quick look at Swiss teams recent records in the Premier European Competition and it’s Uglier Sister see’s them qualifying and hanging around troubling most until Christmas.
It was a hard enough task without the injuries that have been thrown up to us. Though we will have a budget that dwarfs our opponents they always seem to have players who can play a bit as all these clubs see being able to trap and pass a ball as a positive trait.
Us going into it missing our best three players makes a hard task even harder.
The Ugly.
Simples.
Defeat see’s us scrapping the bottom of a financial barrel and the questions over Lennon’s abilities will rise again.
Nice post here. I remember the movie with the same title. I guess everything has its good, bad and ugly side.
