1) We start games like the school wimp curled up in the toilets awaiting a beating from the bullies and all in sundry. We are showing signs that one of these days we will maybe not give the bigger bullies a fight but will eventually stand up to the hangers on looking for an easy picking.

2) Keeping possession in Europe is the key to the game. This ability seems to beyond your normal pasty Scotsman like Mark Wilson and James Forrest. Even Kris Commons first touch saw him lose possession. Chico Mulgrew doesn’t come into this category. He qualifies to play for the USA you know….

3) Gary Hooper needs a friend for these European trips.

4) 45m Euro’s for Falcao? The Championship pairing of Wilson and Loovens kept him quiet but in Miranda (they would have been as well playing that goldfish looking unfunny comedienne) and Perea; Athletico surely have one of the worst right hand side of defence you will see in a half decent European side.

Sammy couldn’t take advantage though.

5) I know ESPN have to talk up their product but a message to Rae, Burley, Stubbs, Collins and McManaman we really don’t give a $hit about losing to the best team in the group no matter how much you bleat about it.

what a load of pish mate, i was over there in madrid, and me and my mates took nothing positive out of the game at all, lennon has promised so much and delivered nothing,

Enlighten us what your expectations were then? A sawash buckling victory that flies in the face of the football landscape where we are nothing anymore?

This might fall by the wayside, but what exactly has Lennon promised in terms of Europe ? I’m sorry you spent your hard earned money (unless you are already over there) to see us getting beat, but what were your expectations exactly ? That we would beat a team that can afford to spend 40m on a single player ? It’s not as if we laid down after the first goal.

      Come on, back to reality.

Nothing positive? To say that our team we put out was worth about 10m and theres about 70m i fort we played well and if kayal had played that ball infront of hooper after they scored we had a serious chances of getting somthing because i doubt hooper would of missed.

When we actully kept the ball we looked fine Kayal and Ki were looking calm in midfield and sammy didnt do all that bad but hooper looked a little lonley up top on his own

. If we play like me did on thursday tomorrow we should beat the rankers no problams at all.

I adopted the attitude that had been previously suggested on this site of viewing the games in Europa Dope League as glamour friendlies, we weren’t overwhelmed by Atletico Madrid nor did we wash away the bad taste of the recent FC Sion/Utrecht debacle but Celtic acquitted themselves well, yes a 2-0 loss is still a 2-0 loss no matter what way you slice it but I was fairly content after 90 minutes x x
