Gary Hooper Wants To Leave

Some bad but not unsurprising news if true.

Seemingly, our tallisman and best centre forward has made it be known that he see’s himself back playing in England next season, if not sooner.

Our CEO’s comment that we had ‘knocked back’ a bid for Hooper may not have been in so much jest. Two clubs registered an interest. Newcastle and Leicester. Both were givin’ no encouragement from the player or the club.

The players position has changed with both clubs being made aware that he is looking to return south.

With Kayal and Ki already what is called in the game “working their ticket”, our manager ending up with a centre forward he had no interest in signing and our poor form this news only adds to the slightly mild autumn of discontent.

Fair play, it got my click.

your article allows PEOPLE like glaswegian to try and take the micky in case you don’t know the glaswegian is a pub owned by the man with no surname get a grip of yourselve

  • mick f says:

if anyone doesn’t want to wear the hoops then they shouldn’t play. I am NOT saying just let them go when it suits them, wait till we get what we want. There’s lots of talent out there & we should be producing more of our OWN TALENT like Forrest. No doubt most players see Celtic as a stepping stone to bigger things but while there in our pool we expect nothing but their best. The biggest problem is when our really good players like McGeady & Naka move on they don’t seem to be replaced. who knows if it’s the board or the managers decision to buy headless chickens rather than skillfull players.

  • justshatered says:

Maybe we should start to try and get some Scottishness back into the team. But then again it doesn’t matter who plays if you’ve got the keystone cops defence.

    • lordofthewing says:

I think Scottish players in general are poor. I do reckon that all this would be stopped if we were doing well and looking good for the rest of the season.

There’s seldom smoke without fire. If it’s rubbish let the club or players respond or if true wouldn’t you all rather know now than feel strung along if they do want away.

  • O'Cahan says:

Thats why most of these guys were bought, all aged 20 – 22, to sell on, and to make money on them, thus keeping the books balanced.
What we needed was experienced players not players hoping to use Celtic as a stop off to the EPL where the big money is.

JUst wondered what everyone thinks about the possibility of celtic signing kevin thomson to get the best oot o Broonie , Cuellar tae sort oot the defence and yon Kris boyd if hoops leaves ? Controversial, but they cud aw dae a job.

  • martyn says:

This is the problem why would anyone want to play for a club with no ambition? It makes me so sad to see how far we have fallen

  • Patman says:

LOTW your turning in to a bit of a keyboard warrior arnt ye? Why not try posting something positive once in a while big lad?!

    • lordofthewing says:

My post after the result at Swinecastle was positive. I don’t see posting a rumour about a player as a negative either. Anyway, what’s positive at the moment?

  • Harry says:

    I don’t buy this.

Where’s the source? Where’s the proof?

  • Harry says:

    So where’s the source then?

You’re implying you’ve heard something no-one else has.

  • Mike Bhoyle says:

Whether he wants to leave or not is irrelevant….
but unless he gets his act together …he should leave.
He looks dis-interested…puts in half-hearted attempts to win the ball…and he needs to read the off-side laws….overall he’s been poor..and it’s been of his own making.
    Bottom line..if he’s not happy…for whatever reason….
then cheerio …’cos you’re not that good…or if you are…you’re hiding it well.

  • john says:

Agree with Mike. He is definitely hiding how good he is. It seems to be too much bother for him. If it is then get a return for your money and let him go.
Kayal has just signed a new deal. Wouldn’t surprise me if that was a Petrov number and may just put a wee bit extra on the asking price come Jan/June. The way he is playing Celtic may just get their money back.

    • lordofthewing says:

When I mentioned working his ticket what I meant that it also included him attempting to get a new contract by blaming his poor form on the contract talks. I certainly don’t see him being here long term.

  • killian1888 says:

time for lennon to go and get mark hughes in.someone who knows what to do.otherwise all the players will leave as they have no wish to play for lennon which is quite obvious on the park.and also they woukld benifit having a better manager who would get the best out of the players

  • Gerard says:

Oooof! You took a bashing on this one me lord.
