Celtic player globally acclaimed, another sensationally bound for Glasgow

|

Christmas flashback….

“Oh, oh, oh”  as Santa said recently when he visited the Gers boardroom mistakenly whilst delivering Christmas presents.

Even Santa could smell the turmoil, or whatever excrement craig whyte had dragged in there to sign, Santa with a dis-tasted look taking a whiff of the disgust went for the exit of a window where a reindeered Sleigh awaited his chubby bones.

Santa then took off quickly outside the boardroom window, little did he know was little Ally McCoist (with fries) was hiding under the boardroom table.

The old rotund, jocular, red dressed, present deliverer then said as the sleigh shot away into the distance “On dasher, dancer…” the muffled tones of Santa faded into the Glasgow night sky.

Ally McBeal, hearing Santa Claus’ Reindeer send off, then appeared from under the boardroom desk, dressed in his “One-sie Daily Record logo printed winter warmer set” (available now for the fee of Sone Aluko) he pipped to himself in low but un-described, griff tones “Dasher….Danza? Danza? …….EUREKA johnson….thas it, thas it…Sandanza…”

This is the possible fairytale that Rangers will exude into the locality, that will emerge on the backpages and websites of the usual rags that sponge up all the ghastly information they push out, if Sandanza was signed.

I dont mean to squash any possibility of rangers world-exclusive-season-money-saving-signing-replacement-for-jelavic but the players agent /  representative, Clive (Makes moves like) Jagger said;

“There’s also been interest from a couple of Championship clubs and I believe a Premiership club went to watch him on Saturday, but I’m realistic enough to know clubs might have 10-20 strikers on a list, and maybe 19 of those will be crossed off.”

Looks like Rangers will not be able to compete with Championship and the possibility of  a Barclays Prem Club watching him.

Jagger also quipped; “”A Major League Soccer club expressed interest quite some time ago, and that interest has grown because of his performances.”

Looks like Jagger is using the “interest” of Gers to propell Sandanzas transfer potential. I expect the blue un-educated ones to pop a deal Sandanzas peoples way but if Scotrail come in with a better weekly wage of £200 a week and a free railcard, rangers can say cheerio and bye bye to wee Francisco.

Speaking of movement, Scotrail – trains, ok i’m cutting the link fine, we have yet another eastern European member of our squad a polish chap who plays in defence of all places. Somebody who Zaluska can shout at in his mother tongue if Big Fraze was to leave, our new Bhoys name Jaroslaw Fojut.

A well known news outlet that rhymes with “Pie” said on their website;

“The 24-year-old former Poland Under-20 international is set to move to Glasgow this summer on a three-year deal once his spell at Slask Wroclaw comes to an end.”

Even though he is a summer signing, this is another example of our scouting network plus Lennons knowledge of players he has witnessed play in person, he could be a good asset but it is hard to say much about the Polish under-20 internationalist other than hes young and he’s a defender so that’s another one in the bag, no good for now, we need a centre half now but I reckon the staff are working on that as I type. The talk of a new striker still looms also.

In regards to speaking of our frontline, wee Jamesey Forrest has been internationally acclaimed this week, on a worldwide scale due to Fifa recognising him, along sides some of the worlds best youth players, as one of the most talented young players in football. As always Fifa comment particularly on some matters, they said of our wee Jamesey: –

“This old-fashioned winger, described by manager Neil Lennon as Celtic’s ‘baby-faced assassin’, has been the SPL’s outstanding player this season.

“National manager Craig Levein and SFA performance director Mark Wotte have both predicted a bright international career.

“Wotte has lauded the speedy and skilful Forrest as ‘a light in the darkness’ in Scottish football.”

The ever honest, this time I give benefit of the doubt, Scottish Sun website said;

“The world football’s governing body have named the Ayrshire-born 20-year-old on their list of 13 top youngsters tipped for big things this year.”

This is great news on many levels, for the club, for James price tag, should it ever come to that and also Scottish football in general. James is very talented but I would be gutted should he leave.

We need to grasp hold of our talented youth so we can ground our local rivals for years to come but with FIFA putting them on lists, it only builds more interest.

Comments welcome as always….

    Good to see we’re investing in the future, again. But, talking about Santa, where’s the big, bad, ball-heading center-forward I asked for ? Has PL still not sorted out his visa yet ?

    John Carew and Grant Holt were names I gathered from pub chitchat, who would you go for?

    Fuck STV. (I clicked then pasted for you. Tax Dodging FC need get no more click share revenue)

    The name Jaroslaw Fojut will have barely registered on most Celtic fans’ radar in the past but, following the news the Polish defender will move to the club in the summer, everyone’s seeking information on the 24-year-old.

    Polish football expert Michal Zachodny, who runs the Polish Scout blog, has seen Fojut’s career develop with Slask Wroclaw since his return from Bolton Wanderers and has told STV what supporters at Parkhead can expect from their new recruit.

    You can also follow Michal on Twitter at @polishscout.

    “Although the move came as a big surprise in Poland, it was way better prepared than most of Polish fans even think, as confirmed by Celtic’s manager Neil Lennon.

    “With Slask Wroclaw, the current Ekstraklasa leaders, having several players in the last months of their deals and struggling to get their signatures before the end of the 2011, it was obvious that not everyone will stay.

    “But while fans and experts focused on different names, Fojut’s went unmentioned. He wasn’t even in contention for the Polish squad for Euro 2012. His last games for the national team were played in Canada, during the 2007 Under 20 World Cup, where he was one of the team’s best players in beating a young and hugely talented Brazil side.

    “His comeback to Poland following a failed attempt to make the breakthrough at Bolton Wanderers was more of a statement of intent for Slask rather than the player himself. With the club just promoted to the Polish top flight, it was a big signing. When he scored with a powerful header on his debut against Lechia in Gdansk, fans already were convinced by him.

    “He won the Polish League Cup with the team in his first months but there were blips as well, as in the dramatic 3-3 game with Arka at the end of the 2008/09 season, when he scored one own goal and made mistakes in two goals as well.

    “Unfortunately, he missed the final of the League Cup due to injury. His health problems hit his chances to maintain his position in the squad and prove his worth on a season-long basis. He played only 10 games the following year and injured himself during a reserve league game when trying an ambitious scissor-kick clearance.

    “Thankfully for him, he was ready for the start of 2010/11 campaign and, along with rest of the team, Slask impressed hugely to get from second bottom in September 2010 to become vice-champions last May. But he missed the ending once again due to injury and it kept him sidelined for the whole European adventure of Slask, when they beat Dundee United, and Lokomotiv Sofia before going out to Rapid Bucharest.

    “When Fojut eventually came back to the squad, he quickly established himself at the heart of the defence and played every minute, scoring against Jagiellonia Bialystok – his first Ekstraklasa goal since the debut.

    “There were no talks of possible interest in his situation at Slask when the winter break started in Polish football. The club’s authorities were confident enough to stall the talks of a new deal for the duration of a pre-season training camp in Spala with the rest of the team. The news of a deal came like a bolt from the blue and definitely will hurt the team’s aspirations this season and for the following campaign.

    “But what might they be missing? Although he played only 51 league games in three years at Slask, he quickly gained the reputation of being the best Ekstraklasa player in the air. He is also regarded as one of the strongest and a hard, but fair, tackler, as well as being a good reader of the game.

    “He formed a very good partnership with Piotr Celeban and Dariusz Pietrasiak and, thanks to both, Slask have one of the best defensive records in the league since he came to the club.

    “Slask fans are already disappointed with his transfer and are blaming the club’s authorities for the situation. But it’s hard to believe that this offer could be turned down by the player. He is still very much keen on the British game, influenced by his time at Bolton and Luton Town, and the challenge at Celtic is arguably more ambitious one than at Slask, despite the club moving to a new 44,000 all-seater stadium built for Euro 2012.

    “Fojut believes that although the chances for him making it for the European Championships are next to zero, being only 24, he can challenge for the place in the squad for World Cup 2014 qualifiers, where Poland will face England among other teams from Group H.”

    Our new Bhoy Jaroslaw doesn’t seem to be one for the future (unlike a Wanyama or newly signed Rabiu Ibrahim) as -like Mikael Lustig- at 24 he really should be making his mark in the game.

    This no ‘project’. This is a ready to run first team option and that what is needed.

    The write up seems very Thomas Rogne. Potential blighted by injury. 51 games in 3 seasons, his spell at Stockport cut short by injury and he seems mishap prone when returning from injury.

    The write up rates him. Again, we have to question the standard of the Ekstraklasa (Dundee United should have put his current employers out very easily in the Zooropa League if it hadn’t been for Houstesticle being an inept coach) but we have to put trust in the scouting and see the gamble in this guy for what it is.

    A cheap gamble that giving this guy the BIGGEST move of his career will see him maybe reach the heights and fitness needed for it to work.

    If he comes in January – unsure this will happen if the ‘mad Poles’ are up in arms about the state of the club and the actions of their board – then I expect him – like Lustig to figure.
