Act Of A Fool To The Four! (Lennon Interview & Goals)

That was that then.

For the most part the gemme resembled two cats playing with a power ball destroying the good curtains in the process. For a gemme that was ‘hyped’ it was certainly switch offable. For that the blame solely lies wie the manager and his starting selection.

His tactical switch early in the first half proved he thought it was pants the same as me. Ledley at left-back and Wilson on the bench was bemusing.

It changed wie an assault. Aside from the usual “He’s not that type of player” defence, Robbie ‘I used to play fir Hertzs’ Neilson looked, jumped, raised and smashed his elbow into the Greek Gods coupon.

Instead of being a straight red it bordered on a straight to jail. His foolishness is only outdone by the Tangerine Terribles that came oot in BIG numbers to support their team (it wis like the 80’s) who decided to boo oor man Sammy from that point in.

Sammy had the last laugh wie a bullet heider not in-keeping wie his usual headed efforts. Ledley outdone all those who backed Hooper fir first goal, Stokes made up fir the miss of the season and Broonie hit his worse penalty though…..it went in so it’s a guid penalty.

Four flattered and it’s hard not to feel sympathy for DuNT. They were the better team until the act of a fool undone their good work and their chance to punish a Lennon mistake. Still, moaning about being in the semi final of the Cup on course for our fourth consecutive final since before punk hit, scoring 16 goals in oor last 5 away gemmes and only conceding an own goal away from home since October seems wrong, foolish and off the mindset of someone that believes born liars.

Bring oan St Midden or Hertz. I don’t really care who.

Why are we still making these bizarre tactical decisions? It worries me greatly.

  • Would like to give a reaction to the 1st half but wish I had heard some proper commentary from my favourie Pauls and Gerrys. Celtic TV kept disappearing and then gave a final gasp on my laptop. I am putting it down to BBC Broadband (*****ing obese band where I live. Can’t get any active response out of it at all but still costs the same as the world’s financial capital’s – gggrrrrrrr!). However, I am not convinced there isnae a wee de’il in yon Celic techy department too sometimes. had to listen to (no idea who the commentator was) but him and his experts, wee Murdy and Jim M’nally. My open heart surgery took a hell of a batterin’ for 46 mins. I finally got the broadband back about 5 mins into the 2nd half and have to say the familiar voices were like an oxygen mask and the goals like my parendrapil beatablockers. Been breathing fairly steadily since approx. 15.15 but have the ambulance on standby in case I can’t get the tv coverage tomorrow. That will be a heartbreaker! Oh by the way was just on to say I agree that the game nor our performance did not sound as if they lived up to anywhere near expectations in spite of the Neilson prediction and the final score. However, I will take a ‘march on’ any time of the year- except July maybe. Looking forward to taking on Herts and Santa Mirrana in the semi. Somebody says I’ve got that a bit confused. Don’t care, we’ll clobber them both dead easy as long as the ref and his gang are only on the side of one of them at a time.

Going in at half-time, despite them being a man down, i feared for us.. Dundee United looked really good (maybe we could be looking at a couple of their young boys for next season..?).

Second half was a huge improvement! Although maybe a bit harsh on United. Thought Sammy had a great game today, i’d hate to see him leave in the summer! Conversely, Hooper and Wee Jamesy still look off the boil (given their efforts all season, i think we can overlook a wee bad spell though)

Honestly couldn’t care what awaits us in the next round, neither of those sides can live with us on our day.

For the first 10 mins it was looking like we might have to go into 2nd gear to win but as you said the wee tactical change shows how Lenny is maturing as the boss even if his starting line up is sometimes questionable. There where games last year when we just played & hoped things would change.
I enjoyed the after match interview with the baboons arse (or houston as he’s known) about how their 10 men played well for most of the game FF had very little to do & what he did he did well.
We have so many good players it’s hard to squeeze them all in but where is Browns, Mulgrews & Ledleys best positions? Broony is a vital part & he drives us forward but where is he best used? He reminds me of Roy Aitkens last few seasons he was moved about center back, center midfield & even right midfield to fit him in.
I better go & have a laugh about the Ibrokes mob & see what billionaires are fighting to buy them today hehe.

Peter Houston isn`t such a bad lad and his record is better than Craig Levein at United. 🙂
Talking of the radio commentary, yes David Begg put the words Goal and Celtic together. I could barely believe it as I jumped about the house.:-)
