While Joe Hart is undeniably England’s number one shot stopper going into the tournament in Brazil, there is uncertainty surrounding his supporting cast.

Names such as John Ruddy, Jack Butland, and Scott Carson are constantly thrown in the mix, but some would argue that Celtic’s Fraser Forster may also be in with a shout.

Forster has been a stalwart in between the sticks for Celtic since his arrival in 2012, and has been a fan favourite by the firm faithful.

He has been linked with a big money move away from the club in recent years, after a string of impressive performances. He has kept an impressive 99 clean sheets in 190 appearances for Celtic, and at 26 years of age, provides a viable backup to Hart.

Forster comes with a wealth of experience having played Champions League football with the Bhoys as well as winning three Scottish Premiership titles and two cups during his time with the club.

At 6ft 7in tall, Forster is physically imposing and commands his area well during set pieces and dead ball situations.

Forster is as capable a keeper as any other candidate for a supporting role behind Hart, and deserves a fair shake when Hodgson picks his team.

I reckon he’ll make it, what do you think?
