Celtic huddleIt was announced today that a handful of Celtic’s away games over Christmas and New Year had been changed.

The Bhoys trip to Fir Park to face Motherwell on the 6th of December will now kick off earlier than previously stated. The away game will now kick off at 12:45pm instead of the later time of 4pm.

Celtic will play Dundee United at Tannadice in the SPFL on the 21st of December at 12:15pm instead of 4pm.

The Glasgow derby match between Celtic and Partick Thistle at Firhill on New Year’s Day 2015 will now kick off an hour and a half later at 5:30pm instead of 4pm.

The final fixture change over this period affects the hoops visit to Rugby Park to face Kilmarnock. The game has been moved from Sunday the 4th of January to Monday the 5th with an 8:00pm kick off.

As a season ticket holder from Belfast who never misses a home game, I’m sick of all these fixture kick off time changes!
I have to book flights well in advance of upcoming fixtures, both for availability and saving on price. When fixture kick off times are then changed, it often means that I miss the game due to flight not arriving on time to get to match .. or match finishing later than planned to catch my flight home!
I’m sure I’m not the only travelling supporter that encounters this annoying problem due to fixture kick off times being changed!

That’s a very good point. One that I have never thought about being a season ticket holder from Paisley who is rather local and doesn’t have that problem.

There will be a lot of people just like you with the clubs strong Irish fan base and the club will know that.

Most changes are due to TV. If a game is pick for TV, Sky or BT will pick a time that suits them and the SPFL will agree just to get the money which is good as its means more money going into the Scottish game but there are many negative effect of TV. Mostly on the people going to the game and you have open my eyes to another negative effect.

It is a interesting issue and one that could make a good feature haha.
