Filip TwardzikLast night saw Celtics first team taste defeat in European competition but they weren’t the only hoops side that competed in a multi nation tournament this week.

Celtics development side competed in the first ever Premier League International Cup on Tuesday night (November 25th). The Premier League International Cup is a Champions League style tournament that features some of the best U21 side in Europe.

The development Bhoys faced Everton at Goodison Park in their first Group D match. Celtic are in Group D along with Everton, Sunderland and Villarreal.

The hoops started the game well before opening the scoring on 26th minute. Joe Thomson volley from the edge of the box was turned into the net by Filip Twardzik to give the hoops the lead. A lead they kept until Everton’s C. Duffus found the Celtic net after a counter attack. The next ten minutes were end to end as both sides looked for a winner but the game finished 1-1.

Not used: Hewelt, Connolly.

Another Celtic side that was in action this week was Celtics under 17s. The under 17s side took on Rangers under 17s in the Glasgow Cup. The hoops faced their rivals at Murray Park on the 27th of November.

The young Celtic side would win the game 2-0. Brandon Payne opened the scoring before Regan Hendry doubled the lead.

Overall a good week for a Celtics youth, but what did you make of it all?
