Poor old Warbo. Poor old Sevco. It’s a day that would make you feel bad even for bitter hacks drinking themselves to death in the back of the news rooms. A day when Sevco slips to third in the SPL after drawing 1-1 at home with Ross County.

How does that song go? “It’s beginning to look a lot like crisis …”

So where do they go from here?

What’s the next move?

Warburton isn’t going to turn this around, and everyone can see it. But can they sack him? Can they afford to? Can they afford not to? Aberdeen have moved in front of them, but how much longer before Hearts do? Before other clubs start to get close? They are all over the place.

Today he changed the team, dropping Halliday and Kiernan both. He put Senderos in the team in spite of not playing for months. And according to the radio he abandoned his allegedly great passing game for a long ball punt style. It didn’t help.

On top of that, Garner, who started the game, was subbed having done the sum total of nil.

They are in freefall.

How long before the papers get out the broken badge, if, indeed, such a graphic exists in those newspaper offices?

Warburton’s team was booed off the park at half time and at full time. Nobody can be under any illusions as to what their fans think of the dreck they’re being asked to watch. This guy is not simply living on borrowed time, he’s now on a life support system which no-one seems to want to take responsibility for switching off.

How he survived that catastrophic display in midweek I do not know.

When you think of the criticism Ronny Deila got last season, it is unbelievable that this guy is getting off with this stuff. The media refuses to submit him to the appropriate level of scrutiny. He gave a press conference just then which was nothing but a barrage of stats, and it seems to have cowed the media into leaving him alone for another day …

But here are some of the stats that matter; if we win tomorrow we are twenty seven points in front of them. Aberdeen are ahead of them on goal difference with a game in hand. What saved his bacon in midweek was his assertion that the target was second place and they still were … but they no longer are. They have played twenty four league games and won only twelve of them. They have drawn seven and lost five. Of the twelve they have won, three of them would have ended in draws but for last minute winners. I could go on and on and on.

This guy is kidding nobody.

He’s a Dead Man Walking.
