I have a copy of a Sunday Mail supplement magazine and a Daily R picture from a few years ago of the same picture though one of the pictures shows Paul Lambert celebrating the league with Tommy Johnston a popes eleven scarf doctored onto the photo and I have the same photo undoctored which is just a normal scarf, supposed to be a year apart.

    ARTICLE:

FIFA Announces Introduction Of Goal-Line Technology

Recently, the match referees could not play with a full deck in the match between Ukraine and England during Euro 2012 as they could not judge correctly at certain times in the heat of the moments when the ball went close to the goal-line. But now, that weakness of referees is going to become a piece of history as the world football governing body, FIFA, announced the introduction of Goal-Line Technology from the 2012 Club World Cup on Thursday.
The implementation of Goal-Line Technology will be completed in steps. After the use in 2012 Club World Cup, the next big use will be in 2012-13 Premier League System. If the both experiments gave satisfactory results then it will be approved for Confederation Cup and 2014 World Cup Football.
The legislative body of football, IFAB, has approved the goal-line technology with all eight votes, according to FIFA Secretary General Jerome Vackle. To introduce new changes in the existing rules or to implement new football rules, at least six out of the eight votes are required from the four votes of FIFA and the four votes of Northern Irish, Welsh, Scottish and English football associations. The related meeting was held in Zurich on Thursday.
Changes were approved after thorough consideration of the results of Hawk-Eye and GoalRef System. The Hawk-Eye technology is already in use in tennis. In Football, it will use a network of six high-speed cameras to track the motion of football around the goal-line. GoalRef system is a recent invention of German scientists. It uses a magnetic chip in football and a combination of magnetic sensors with the goal cost to work. When the ball crosses goal-line sensors catch disruptions in the magnetic fields and signal the referee about the goal.
Jerome Vackle also told that FIFA would install and pay for the installation of Goal-Line technology in the post-meeting press conference.
Now, in the world of football, a debate has started that how the tenders will be awarded. It is another fact that although the Goal-Line Technology seems to be a blessing for match referees but few fans still want the game to continue with the goal-line controversies.
