Coffee & Tv: Celtic v ICT. The Goal.

|

Paddy McCourt’s Celtic career summed up in one 30 second spell. A goal, like all his others, that will live long in the memory causing the injury that ended his game. This was not any kind of injury. No, this was an injury received during the celebration of said goal when Shaun Maloney kneed him in the head.

Our manager says ‘it was a kind of whiplash’. I say it was just plain bizarre.

We were wasteful but at no time in the second half did I go behind the couch and pray to whatever God I think exists this week. Woodwork, great saves and Samaras were to blame for a not more convincing scoreline.

We will just not mention the first 25 mins. Ok.

Coffee & Tv Man Of The Match: Shaun Maloney. Agree?

    Agree. If this is the Shaun Maloney that will show up week in and week out we are going to be tough to beat. He was immense in the middle of the park today. He might do well to finish a few of his chances in the future but this was his only blemish.

      @BoulderBhoy,

      Quite a few were wasteful with chances. Esson saved them from a right doing. We look like we have a good kid in Forrest.

    No complaints about today. Solid team performance in the second half, defence was not shit. Mulgrew’s not a first choice LB, but we knew that already.. Whatever Lennon said at halftime worked. Maloney ? absolutely..he’s a good player man, he’s needed a confidence boost. If he gets a run of games I think he’ll do well for us. There was a lot wrong with last season but, IMHO, I think his injury really affected us..he’s a clever wee player. First time I’ve seen Forrest proper, agreed, this kid could be the real deal. Hope Paddy’s ok..

    @wildrover

    A noticeable thing about Mulgrew yesterday was that when he was under pressure his hoofs always found a Celtic man. Not once did they fly out of play like the last few weeks, or, like the last few seasons of charlatans we have had on that wing.

    3pts at a dificult venue is a great start to the league campaign.
    Good news too about the white Bobo (and maybe another LB?).

    All we need now is a 30 goal sriker and we”ll coast it
    🙂

    Feeling good about Utrecht now!

      @sixtaeseven

      Surley Utrecht must be better than Information Computer Technology? Not that I want them to be.

      I’ll have news on the White bobo and a left back later on tonight and early tomorrow my man is delivering some goods.

    1st 20 mins awfull then i thought we played really really well and could have scored a fair few. Tin hat on thought brown had a good game, granted he gave the ball away (he always does) but thought he led us well. Maloney and Sammi linked up well, similar to that spell they had a few games ago. Forrest yes and yes again…..

    given, the left back, the centre half and bellers and we might just win this league 🙂

    thats the dublin flights booked……

    • lordofthewing says:

      @boh67

      Brown had a decent game in the second half as he had nothing to do that takes the slightest football ability or brain power.

      I looked at that bench and saw the end for him.

    • lordofthewing says:

      To all

      Any talk of Given and Bellars will result in a swift kick to the baws. It won’t happen.

  • sixtaseven says:

    If it does happen, retribution shall be swift
    (oouchh!)

    I thought Itchy Chapped Testicles did well yesterday. I expected them to be tough opposition, as always, Terry (Pat) Butcher initially set out the home team well to stifle us in posession and catch us cold early on.

    To reiterate views somewhat, Maloney was an ever influential bright spark, finishing will come on his part. The team as a whole did ok, but I think when we peak as a team, after various movements (not bowels, transfers LOTW :-D), and the transfers settle properly, we will be a tough cookie to crumble.

    Seans final thought – Just enough education to do the job, shooting boots will arrive soon (after the floods presumably), pleased with the win, things can only get better. Onward to Paradise, where the thunder awaits….

    • lordofthewing says:

      @Sean

      Chapped testicles and bowl movements two things usually contributed to seeing Kerry Katona naked and not Celtic.

  • Sean says:

    @LOTW

    PMSL…. I think the cause of most mens impotence is the shock received when katona appeared in the papers topless on a sun lounger with a beer and fag end in tow…
