Being one of those lucky chaps who disregarded my old free-view box that would not get channel 5, I tickled Bransons cable long one instead of Murdochs dish, I have managed to keep hold of that timeless, guy porn, entertainment regarded by my Mrs as “Oh not that bloody channel again”, yep the sports news channel in HD (I have refrained from using its appropriate moniker as we are not effing advertising for them, even though I am sure the money would go down nice but thats not my pony to ride).
The aftermath of spending a good two hours in front of the television was not nice. I was left happy that Spurs squandered their lead, “Ha, ha, ha” said my Uncle (Gunners fan), but left in utter disapointment that it looks like ex-rangers player Alex Ferguson has done his old boys a favour by giving them a point at home. I saw some of the match and the percentage I did see Man United seemed over confident and even some of them looked like they wanted to be elswhere, probably a hotel room with an evening lady.
I noticed at one point the R*ngers had 10 players in their own half defending, it looked like a bloody scrum at the time, with the ‘Mancs’ left with a couple of long range efforts all in the minimalist amount of play I did see. I then decided after a few moments to switch off as my uncle said “Its feckin obvious, Fergie and Walty have had a secret handshake and an agreement before hand”.
Would a draw suit both parties? Yes. Do the managers have history? Yes. A draw would have suited both clubs, as to me it is a variation of waving ‘the white flag’ to show both teams have move forwards towards fairness and equality in the game, plus it would act as a platform to show that they could leave Ibrox and enter England without wrecking a whole city.
I pondered the thought that just because you leave a percentage of the brainless, neanderthals at home doesn’t mean you will not start any trouble and I imagine that if anything did kick off, other than the match, it would be media-blacked-out and covered up to show the nicey, nicey side of both teams. After witnessing some of United versus the huns match, that I could only describe as the biggest scandal since the Bloodgate scandal in Rugby, I decided to focus on another Rugby. Rugby Park that is and the upcoming fixture against Kilmarnock.

Good old Killie and arguably the love stops at that after our ties with them when messrs James McGrory and Tommy Burns have been discussed. Recently manager Mixu Paatelainen (I’ve often wondered if a dyslexic reads his name do they get reminded to go to the bookies as they probably see “Mixed up? put a line on”) has taken the Killie hot seat (the reason for it being hot is that Danny Invincibile spilled his scotch bonnet chili sauce off his kebab on it.).
Not only does Mixu have Taouil, Sammon, Combe and Fowler at his beck and call but he also snapped up David Silva and Mo Sissoko. Yes thats right, no joke, when I saw the signings float across my TV screen one morning I nearly spat my Asda Shreddies at the screen in laughter thinking “Are things that bad at Killie that they have decided on signing tribute acts already?”. I think I was laughing for the rest of that day after seeing that. Today the big news is that David Silva may be out of Killies next match injured (and no he is not commuting to Manchester to play for his other team).
Killie have notched up 2 wins (Dons and St Mirren) and 2 losses (The Well and Huns) so far this season. Mixu will more than likely set up his ‘stall’ with a defensive formation and look to swamp the midfield to stop us from playing. I think that Killie do not have enough quality to stop our on form team and that we should win comfortably.
Prediction – 3 – 1 win with goals from Stokes, Murphy and wee Shaun.
