Another pleasing aspect of last week was the amount of bodies Celtic got into the box when attacking. Stokes, Murphy, Maloney, Ledley and Juarez were all in the mood for goals which can only be a good thing when Izaguire’s firing in crosses like he was during the 90 minutes in Ayrshire, it was a very tough early afternoon for the bhoys but looking back over the piece, certainly after the equalizer, there was only ever gonnae be one winner and it certainly wasn’t the home team, who seemed content with 1 goal after their near miss from Eramenko’s chip. Its 4 out of 4 for Lenny and no one can complain, even one like myself who wasn’t exactly screaming from the rooftops for Lennon to get the job in the first place.
So where does that leave us now?
Tomorrow, an out of sorts Hibs side will travel to high-flying Celtic, fresh from their fine 6-0 victory in the league cup over a very poor Inverness side. Make no mistake about it, Celtic should be winning all of their home games, especially against teams who are enduring the sort of run that Hibs are at the moment.
Celtic should win this game as comfortably as they won on Wednesday, but you just know that Hibs will raise their game for Celtic, But, how could a team who allowed Rangers to run over them at home, possibly come to Celtic Park and win?
Well they done it last year. Rangers took 5 off Hibs at Easter Road, and only a matter of weeks later, Hibs went to Celtic Park and won 2-1 with a late goal from Daniel Galbraith
However this time, history wont be repeating itself come Saturday.
8 months on from when Hibs came to Celtic Park and won, Celtic are a new outfit, a new team, a totally new animal. If Giorgios Samaras doesn’t start, then not one player who started that night Hibs came and won 2-1, will have survived Neil Lennon’s cull. Boruc, Hinkel, Thompson, O’Dea, Caddis, McGinn, Crosas, Zhi, McGeady, Samaras and Fortune all started that night, nearly all of that team have moved on. The Tony Mowbray era has finished and the Neil Lennon one is well on its way to being a very successful period in the club’s history, so come Saturday there wont
On Saturday I’d fully expect Neil Lennon to go with the following 11
Forester, Cha, Majstorovic, Loovens, Izaguire, Juarez, Ledley, Kayal, Maloney, Stokes, Hooper
Of course if Izaguire isn’t fit then I’d like to see Ledley slot in at left back and Ki or Brown or Forest if fit brought in to replace Ledley in the Midfield if he’s needed in the left back area.
Hibs can’t buy a win at the moment, and this ‘no mercy’ attitude Neil Lennon has introduced to the Celtic team means they wont be getting one this Saturday either. If Celtic can secure an early goal then Hibs will find it very hard to contain a side who just love to attack their opponents, on Wednesday night, when it was 3-0, Celtic wanted 4, they wanted 5, they wanted 6, and of course, they got what they wanted, and they’ve now became used to the idea that they get what they want domestically. Celtic have also of course took Hibs’ best player in Anthony Stokes this summer, something which should only make Hibs’ task on saturday even harder. Celtic of course will have to be wary of Derek Riordan, who seems to always play well when returning to Parkhead, but will that be enough to stop Neil Lennon’s side having their own way?
I’ll go for 4-0 Celtic with Hooper and Stokes both getting two goals each, notice how Joe Ledley had his most defensive performance so far for Celtic once I back him for the first goal? That means I should probably go for Loovens then…
Enjoy the game on Saturday wherever and however you watch or listen to it, and lets hope next week we’re all blogging about it being 5 out of 5 for Celtic and of course laughing at Rangers getting humped at home in Europe again.
Hail Hail
Brucehillbhoy
3-1,good reading again wee mhan, keep it up!
Mate i think you might want to look at the league table and see how many games we have played this season. Hail hail.
Do you mean 4 out of 4 since Utrecht?
I have questioned the drum banging over Lizzy McGuire as I have seen initial bursts of colour fade just as quick as the night sky.
Time Master Luke, some wee green fellow said.
Plus putting our best midfielder at left back is madness. Keep off the tipex. Mulgrew will do a shift as a lampost quite fine.

Sorry its already 5 out of 5 on its way to being 6 out of 6!
Not the convincing win that many would have hoped for but still good in parts.
At least this is a good weekend! 🙂
..and relax
Poor game, decent result. That’s all.
Yep, good to get the win but slightly surprised that after an early goal, from Brown, who was outstanding, that the team never pushed on and go the 4s and 5s we were ‘expecting?’
Still haven’t read why Brown was outstanding? Decent 10 mins then faded. Don’t believe the hype.
