The usual Sunday search for the goals has, maybe, brought slight evidence of our manager ready to blow. Our poor November, 2 wins, 2 draws and 1 defeat – when you see it written down it’s not that bad but when you think of the performances, apart from The Sheep, it’s the sign of a team that’s lost it’s way – has given the doubters opportunity to vent.
The chance seemed to have landed on Lennon’s doorstep yesterday. He seemed to stop at the mouth of the tunnel to have a pop before Alan Thompson ushers him up the tunnel. There’s no pointing or shouting. Just a stop, a look and a simmering.
I have no interest in being the nations sweetheart and unlike Cheryl Cole my views are not bland so to not offend. Learning that his midfield get’s over-run after 60 minutes of most games is something that he has got to learn quickly. He can be livid with individual errors but do his coaching staff work on defending set plays and taking them?
We have run before we could walk. Expectations were raised when just under the surface the players and management were really not at the level. They might get there. The second half of the season is when that will be judged but even then they will need more time.
For those questioning his appointment, look around. Mowbray promised us a dream and turned it into a nightmare. Mark McGhee only still has a job as he photos of Wullie Miler with a sheep. Lambert not interested in returning and Oweny Coyle would rather handle austerity measures in Bolton. Davie Moyes? Behave.
The tunnel incident is 1:20mins in. The goals, bettered watched from behind the sofa or through your fingers are afterwards.
