The Green Brigade deserve great credit for bring an atmosphere back to The Library. When The Diary heard that they had engaged with the PLC the first thought was that they were the most unlikely bedfellows. The Green Brigade are not universally liked or understood. They are seen by some as ‘daft wee laddies who jump around‘ and as ‘daft wee laddies who jump around that can read wikipedia and work Google’ when it comes to describing their political stand point.
A protest regarding Celtic wearing a poppy on their jersey next week did them no favours to dispel the notion some have.
No matter how good the point you are trying to get over a botched protest doesn’t do the overall cause any good. Whether you agree or disagree with the message it’s difficult to take it serious after such an own goal. There will be some red faces in the ranks.
