The Diary: Protest Or Celebrate before Aberdeen?

|

Before the game against The Sheep – superbly previewed here – there are two events that could be entries in any Celtic fans diary.

One takes place at Hampden in the form of a protest against the SFA regarding Dougie, Dougie and his cronies behaviour over the last few weeks. The protest organisers say: “The purpose of the planned protest is to highlight this on-going situation.” They also : “Demand an independent investigation”

All worthy outcomes but haven’t they been highlighted enough and to protest in an empty car park just seems an empty gesture..

At the same time the magnificent Celtic Grave Society are having a ceremony at Dalbeath Cemetery to mark the grave of Celt Dan Doyle, who was the subject of Marie Rowan’s book: Dan Doyle – The Life And Death Of A Wild Rover.

Anyone who has read the book will agree this man was a character and the Celtic Graves Society description of Dan as:

“In Dan Doyle the Celtic faithful had a man who was the embodiment of our own hopes of the time in rising above the mundane whilst remaining independent of soul.”

…is fitting.

If The Diary’s domestic duties allowed then they would be attending one that befits the 123rd Anniversary of our clubs founding.

    @LOTW

    Do you think the fellowship of the whistle will dare to put another few decisions over on us this weekend?

    I get a feeling, don’t know why, but I think they may be a little more wary of putting one over on us this weekend. Get your money on a Dons player being sent off haha.

      Nothing will change until the press change the way they report these incidents. The pressure has been put on the MIBs by those who write pulp fiction. We may get a few 50/50 over the next few weeks but then that’s just as corrupt if that is the mindset.

    Didn’t realise the Dan Doyle thingy was today.Although we now seem to finally have a fitting left back to honour him today.
    On to what Sean said, we will get the most ridiculous penalty decision today when we are 3-0 up and then we should all shut the f*ck up and forget about the past 100 years or so as it will have just ‘evened out’ in that split second as despite blatant corruption being made offical again were still somehow paranoid.
