Nil By Mouth For Lennon And Hooper

|

Our manager and marksman today found themselves in front of the SFA for seemingly loose lips.

Hooper kopped £2000 suspended fine for mumbling: “The referee wants to give a decision against us so he can say something after the game. I think all the big teams get it.” The punishment seems a bit harsh for telling the truth.

Lennon was “given a severe censure and warned about his future conduct” for his comments after Wullie Gollum gave a penalty when he had his back to the incident.

The strange thing is that Lennon will get brought before the SFA again in two months time for his comments after the Dougiegate game, which was before Gollumgate and also for his comments at Tynecastle, which was after Gollumgate.

Only in Scotland can a manager be charged then warned about his future behaviour when his first offence hasn’t been considered yet.

I know fitba players earn a lot of cash these days, but 2000 notes for speaking yer mind is outrageous.

Hoopy was ambushed by the hacks’ questions , a bit naive, but hardly bringing the game into disrepute by what he actually said. It was blown out of all proportion by the “press” of course. The result is he is 2 grand out of pocket.

Just a thought, if GW is found guilty, will he be fined by SFA for giving the game a bad name?
