Governments have been brought down for less than such hair-brained ideas. Watching the Republic of Ireland v Wales last night it wasn’t hard to imagine that riot police had ‘kettled’ the players into the stadium in the hope that if they kept them in for long enough a game may ensue to relive the boredom.
It did. Of sorts. I would rather watch Alan Titchmarsh potholing in the Pennines. Which I did. He’s better looking than Keith Fahey anyway.
Tonight sees Norn Iron take on Scotland. Celtic interest is worryingly plenty. “Knowing that you’re sharing a dressing room with some of these guys makes it a bit more competitive” mumbled The Derry Pele who will be involved along with McGinn, Brown, Commons and Mark Wilson.
Great, the chance of injury is greater due to some fuckwits idea to arrange this mingefest. Could be worse, Gary Hooper could be Gary McHooper if Scotland’s attempt to drink out of the mouldy Grandparents cup is successful. Another worry then that one of our players will be exerting themselves in often fruitless and pointless games.
Could be worse. He might have been recognised by the FA and could be sharing a dressing room with such mongs as Terry, Lampard, and Cole. Our vying for a place up front with Can’t Pass Cole.
I wonder what is the lesser of the two evils?
If I can’t find more Titchmarsh I will be playing the game below looking to win a bit of money. Wining money while England lose to a Danish side who haven’t been any good since 1992 sounds like a evenings entertainment.
