1) Our muched ‘lauded‘ strength and depth was put to the test on Saturday and was found wanting. If this wasn’t the ‘run-in’ with everyone just looking at points and not the style then I can guarantee you that we would be bemoaning the ‘fringe‘ players and calling for a clear out.
2) Celtic’s top model, Freddie Ljungberg, has been vocal in the last few weeks, now his pre-season and his supposed injuries and illnesses have been cured. Saturday saw his first start. Offered little and no surprise he was hooked. It’s hard not to shake off the early impression of ‘why‘?
3) Midgets! St Midden must have thought they were being attacked by an overspill from The Shire as they faced the vertically challenged. Stokesy, Hooper, Maloney, Commons and Ljungberg heights added together wouldn’t get on a rollercoaster at the pleasure beach. I was squinting at the bench to see if that lump of wood Murphy was loitering with intent in the second half.
4) Kris Commons. I have commented that he has done very little bar score 6 goals. His debut was a perfect impact and he has something that we haven’t had since the halcyon days of Petrov and Thompson. Someone that will just put his foot through the ball from the edge of the box. That’s a priceless asset.
5) The press seem to have lumped our performance into the file: “They’re feeling the pressure.” It was only 3 days after a ‘season best’ first 45 minute performance against Hibs. I’ll await until we rack up a few of these before making judgements.

The smaller lads can do lots of damage, only if Samaras got fuckin mean, I mean Roy Keane mean, he could be a right bastard of a battering ram… wishful thinking?
The midgets work if you are playing well. But our midgets seemed to like tippy tapping and fanning about in the last third until Commons came on. Sammy can beast people but in different way from a battering ram.
As usual I`m feeling nervous. What can I do about this? Come on the Celts!
