Attempted murder?

|

serious?First Bullets, then bombs, is this attempted murder?

No this is not a story from Libya or Afghanistan.

Nor is it a storyline for a new film coming out.

Neither is it a wives tale told in the pub by a lonely old drunken soul.

THIS IS REALITY AND PLAIN PURE STUPIDITY.

This (for some of us) is on our own doorstep, where our children play, our dogs are walked and good times spent.

This harsh reality has become very stupid and beyond the realms of some un-realistic video games, it seems surreal that it is all happening. The basis of it is that it all boils down to football.

Two sets of tribes one on either side of the fence with one side now taking it to far right extremes to get one over on the other.

In light of gers manager in waiting Ally McCoist mouthing his opinion about a clampdown on thugs shouting sectarian abuse at matches his initial contradictory comments now must seem lightweight as he has now been overshadowed by possibly one of his own thugist fans and their unending stupidity.

The stupidity = a  parcel bomb sent to Neil Lennon which if opened could have had fatal consequences  – This is beyond a step too far.

The Strathclyde Police released this statement: –

“We believe we are dealing with someone who is Scotland-based and it wouldn’t take Miss Marple to suggest that there’s every chance someone from a Loyalist background is involved.”

The police also said the packages sent where designed to “maim or kill.”

This is very official that this was ‘ATTEMPTED MURDER’ of whoever received these packages.

One main news channel website, one owned by Murdoch, said this: –

Police are hunting a nail bomber who has sent several potentially lethal devices to prominent people connected to the Celtic football club.

I doubt very much you will see this tactic in Ally and Waltys pre-match tactical report for the old firm derby. Has it realistically come to this, I cannot keep pinching myself anymore. This all happening in the run up to an old firm match is sheer insanity, these animals with so much hatred that they can do these animalistic things will deserve what they get when they are caught.

I cannot imagine what runs through these vile person/s heads when they do these things. I can only think that they must imagine this is a correct tactical advantage to take to an old firm match, where as I say it just seems to add more petrol on the Celtic fire to give us mass amounts more intent to stuff the gers in the next encounter.

These person/s have not only embarrassed themselves but they have made all the fingers point to rangers, and in light of sectarianism being brought to the forefront by footballs European governing bodies, these animals have just made it a whole hell of a lot harder for the gers and their ‘stain’ – like problems that will now not wash out for an eternity.

I leave you with this to ponder, remember the last time a gers associate, staff, player or other received bullets or bombs in the post? I cannot!

“Now can we talk about football, cos Im getting tired of all this terrorist sh!t.”

A Celtic fan, 2011.

Your thoughts as always bhoys: –

I am disgusted by this and the people who I have seen condon it. It is now scary to be a catholic celtic supporter in glasgow with the scottish government or media so far not taking a strong enough stance on the issue.

  • I’ve went through various stages of anger and sadness tonight. One minute I want our club to resign from this football association and try and move to a safer league. Next minute I want to stay and see justice delivered on the pitch and in the courts.
This has went way beyond sick. Without trying to inject hyperbole into this situation I can only call it what it is.Terrorism. And for what ? What kind of world must you inhabit to think for one minute that this is in anyway justifiable?
I write my own blog and tonight I have been very forthright in laying the blame right at the door of RFC and their support. However it goes further than that. The very papers who will condemn this today have been complicit in stirring this hatred up with years of negative reports sighting Neil Lennon as some type of demon whilst turning a blind eye to the growing sectarianism and racism within the Rangers support.

    Disgusted.

I’m really fed up with the whole thing. Like you I’m lost whose to blame. I just blame fuckwits who won’t ever change. Look at the killing of the polisman in Norn Iron the attempted further killing of polis yesterday. Fuckwits. What’s their cause? What’s any cunts cause?

This further proves the lubriciously high importance we place on kicking a pigs bladder around a field.

If this season has proved one thing that the best wee country in the world is actually the most backward wee country in Europe. We are targeted because of our heritage and this country can’t accept that.

    Can believe this shit.
Goes to show how good a job he is doing that they our resorting to this shit.

Lennon’s head will remain high and he’ll have a Throphy in each hand soon enough to help him deal with with these failures of people.

Once again Neil lennon and his family are being terrorised , Paul McBride for SPEAKING OUT , not as the Scottish media have stated as ” outspoken ” ( which sounds like justification)and “Trish Goodman, a Celtic supporter ” , I don,t care if Celtic win a trophy this season , I would like Neil Lennon and his family to be allowed to live in piece , i would like the SFA SNP SPL every manager , coach, referee and every single player and especially every single form of media to stand up and be counted …IF THIS WAS Walter Smith what would be your reaction, If Neil Lennon never wins a trophy i will forever look up to him and his family for what they have been through ,and are still being put through and all because he is a good manager , Paul McBride is being a good QC and Trish is a Celtic supporter , sick sick sick ,, to all the powers that be stop this now

  • Sean says:

@john west belfast – hear hear its a continuous torrent of shite and abuse that these targetted persons families and loved ones should not go through. People are saying Lenny might leave now, but thats what the animals want. Surely he can only decide on the importance in front of him, safety or ignore the idiots and somehow carry on.

  • Wuzz1888 says:

Even if we don’t win anyhing this season Neil is already a winner in my eyes for the dignity he has shown in such adversity and the fact he has managed to put out a team that plays with such passion and determination is the mark of the man and the iron will he possesses, in sayin that I hope we pump these bastards on Sunday, win the double and the feckin coward(s)are caught and dealt with appropriately, or the police get them first!!

    Hail Hail YNWA Lenny

  • rfc+sfa=cheats says:

what a disgrace, and the same people pretending to be outraged now the story has gone global were applauding the rangers fans after their shame game where they sang racist and sectarian songs throughout the entire game, the same media who said mr lennon must have deserved being kicked unconscious in the street (where he swallowed his tongue and could have died) just because he didn’t want to face his attackers in court are now pretending to be outraged. in reality these people are the reason it has got this far, their acceptance of bigotry and racism have given the nail bomber(s) the justification they needed to think this is ok. scumbag politicians, scumbag police and scumbag media, do whatever you need to do mr lennon, we will support you and understand any decision you make. God Bless.

  • lordofthewing says:

    On Murdoch News.

The Polis just said that the packages were sent after all parties had been in press.

Admittance of the press culpability in all this.

  • bobocop says:

This is some serious business. Whoever’s responsible is looking at life imprisonment when caught and rightly so. I sincerely hope the criminals are caught and have every confidence in our “scumbag police” to catch them. Was the poor lad who was murdered last week a scumbag as well rfc+sfa? I bet you a pound to a penny his murderers were Celtic supporters to a man but no mention was made of this. Why not? Because it’s taken as read that both sides of the Irish terrorist divide associate themselves with one or other halves of the old firm. In no way do the old firm court these types of individuals or organisations. To suggest, as some have in this blog, that reactions would be different if the bombs were directed at Rangers is pathetic and ridiculous. It’s also indicative of the type of mentality that leads to polarisation and eventually violence.
Sympathise with Lenny by all means. I certainly do and although, as I’ve previously stated, I don’t like the way he sometimes conducts himself, I hope he can stay focused and give full attention to his club. He is definitely the key to the championship and the players performances will be led by him.
The press do have to shoulder some of the blame for this but frankly they don’t give a toss about anything except copy and sales. In actual fact they will be loving it just now and they’ll love it even more if Lenny quits or the criminals are caught. There will be endless columns filled with the history of the bigots, when they were last at Ibrox, and if their lucks in they might even unearth a photo of one of them with a Rangers player taken at some supporters club do 5 years ago.

    • lordofthewing says:

The fuckwits on both sides are loving this. Some of the stuff I have seen today has made me despair. See my reply to James also for my view.

  • rfc+sfa=cheats says:

bobocop……..why would i label a murdered boy a scumbag? are you insinuating im an ira supporter because i support celtic? i hate ALL violence, and condemn ALL violence. unlike the scottish politicians, police and media, who have done nothing in all the years neil lennon has been subjected to threats. the politicians and police praise rangers fans after they spend an entire game spouting racial abuse!? the media fails to address the truth, that this has been an escalation in threats and abuse towards lennon because the politicians and police are scared to face up to rangers bigots and this is where their cowardice has lead to. you may have every confidence in the police finding the person(s) who done this but as they failed to find the animals who sent the bullets to lennon and 2 celtic players i dont. look at the number of celtic fans murdered by gers fans in scotland before insinuating the “old firm” are as bad as each other. it would DEFINITLY be treated different if this was walter smith.

  • robert cameron says:

Sorry rfc+sfa, I can’t agree with you on this. My antecedents are lifelong bluenose, 30 years a cop and 28 years a resident of that loyalist hotbed and gods kingdom, Larkhall. Now I know you think that puts me behind the 8 ball but let me assure you that I locked up Rangers neds as eagerly as Celtic ones. I also worked in Larkhall for several years and was called a Fenian bastard numerous times because of the number of proddys I locked up. About as many times as I was called an orange bastard for locking up Catholics. I’ve known individuals in the job who were utterly biased and bigoted but the vast majority of cops dealt with people even handedly. I have direct, first hand knowledge of the time, money and effort spent on enquiries into sectarianism and bigotry. There is no doubt that political hot potatoes get priority, such as domestic, racial and anti-islamic abuse. I worked in Cambuslang when several Rangers players expensive cars were vandalised at the go-karting. The local beat cop was allocated the enquiry and eventually reported 2 Celtic fans for it. No special effort made, no press furore and typically no action by the fiscal. It would surprise you the number of incidents involving old firm players which go un-reported. In Neil Lennons case, any time he has been singled out by neds said halfwits have been caught and jailed. To be honest though the police may have been guilty of underestimating the level of hatred directed at Lennon and Celtic by the thugs. I was surprised that it got to the level it has however, going by newspaper reports there are indications that those responsible have UDA and UVF connections. That being the case I would suggest that they are striking back in retaliation for recent terrorist murders of army and police personnel in Ireland. The high profile of Lennon, the adverse publicity he’s had and Celtics deep rooted connections to Catholicism and Republicanism have made them an obvious target. There has been worldwide news coverage of it, which serves the terrorists well and, alongside the intention to kill, is probably one of the main reasons for this campaign.
You’re insinuations and accusations are way off the mark and not supported by figures. You’re obviously aggrieved but I think this has clouded your vision to the extent that you only see one side of the argument.

  • rfc+sfa=cheats says:

robert cameron…i can admit i was harsh branding all police officers, politicians and media as scum. obviously all people associated with these jobs are not scumbags so it was wrong to say ALL. what i will say though is the high ranking officers who have let this sectarian hate campaign against lennon continue for fear of upsetting rangers are useless cowards who in the long run are not only allowing just rangers to be sullied but scotland as a whole in the long run. i do find it disgraceful that many of the people in positions to condemn this and make changes are not bold or honest enough to confront the huge racist and sectarian problem at rangers, too many people have allowed this to escalate and allowed the same old “as bad as each other” bollocks to be used to excuse this large minority at rangers. again i was wrong to say its all police officers, politicians and journalists, but it is too many, and they are the reason scotland is unable to move forward.

  • rfc+sfa=cheats says:

robert cameron……and honestly i dont understand how i am only looking at it from 1 side of an argument, its not up for discussion that the people involved in this decade long hate campaign against lennon are in the wrong, they have no possible reason on earth to abuse anyone like that, just as those who have refused to address from positions of authority have no fair or valid reason to ignore and excuse it as an “old firm” problem. it is what it is, anti irish, anti catholic racism and bigotry.
