“Laughing Stock”, “Dysfunctional, Dishonest and Biased” McBride Or The SFA?

As already covered Iain Brines had a ‘day of dubious decisions’ yesterday.

The SFA and possible late contender for Celtic’s ‘Player of the year‘ , Paul McBride QC, could also be counted as having a ‘day of dubious decisions‘.

Our manager had ended his press silence saying that he felt ‘demonised‘ and ended the day saying that he found the SFA disciplinary committees decision to clear McMoist of any wrong doing in the altercation which saw the Ginger one incarcerated next to Stevie Woods for 4 games ‘interesting‘.

Celtic waved the right to appeal this ban by deciding to show the world that the SFA rules and committees were ‘not fit for purpose‘. This did more for the cause then getting any appeal overturned ever could. McMoist appealed and rightly won. No matter what he said he did not act in an aggressive manner at that time. He did during other incidents but they weren’t the ones being investigated. Again, the SFA ‘not fit for purpose‘.

Lennon’s ‘interesting‘ take should be left for blog favourite, Sash-singing Luva Luva Paw Broon, and how the SFA deal with his altercation with Motherwell chairman John Boyle. Like it our not Broons reaction is similar to our managers.  Maybe McBride would have been better hanging onto his verbal assault until this case had been heard.

What does make the SFA ‘laughing stock‘ is their decision to let the Algerian Latka Gravas off after he manhandled an official 3 times during the game. This is after the CEO of the SFA commented: “Only a matter of months after our referees withdrew their labour, we had to witness the match official, Calum Murray, being manhandled, while another player who had been dismissed brazenly walked to his own supporters in defiance. It is a tribute to his professionalism that Calum and his team kept calm.” regarding this incident.

It seems you can’t question the referees integrity but your allowed to manhandle them without fear or favour. Kids take note. I fully expect to be hearing from Kenny Clark regarding this lack of respect.

So, the ‘Shame game‘  that saw a summit be called to discuss it has seen all bar Neil Lennon further punished for his part in it. The club that saw 3 players sent off and were the cause of the chaos get away with any tangible punishment due to two of the players who should be suspended for the first round next season won’t be at the club.

Maybe McBride was right afterall.
