The Good, The Bad And The Ugly About The Title Decider (sic)

The Good

I’m glad this is getting out the way early. This season has been unprecedented in a number of ways but having to play them 7 times is akin to a Conservative MP’s kinky sex game involving fruit and a Waitrose bag. It’s pleasurable but can also be very dangerous and sore.

This is a public service announcement for those who didn’t watch the Diddy Cup Final. Contrary to reports R*ngers didn’t play a hybrid of Brazil 70 and Holland 74 football. In fact, there wasn’t a fag paper between the sides and that was on a day we didn’t turn up.  There is nothing to fear.

The Bad

The aforementioned failing to turn up at the Diddy Cup Final and also being a slave to their long ball over the full backs tactics on that day. We need to combat that.

Joe Ledley being injured. Unlike all the Joe doubters out there this is a major blow to our game plan. This will see Ki come in to the reckoning. With R*ngers attacking our full backs with long, longing balls they will need protection. Do you want some pipe tobacco to chew on? How about Lizzy on the left handside of midfield with Mulgrew at left-back? Works for me.

Defeat. In the short-term that will be a major blow. It will see over the top plaudits undeservedly being bestowed on an auld goat who dresses like they are still rationing milk tokens.

The Ugly

The ugly has been seen in an extreme form this week. Hopefully this is some sort of a watershed. I’m sure the founding fathers of the Kinning Park rowing club would be turning in their graves, if they weren’t encrusted in the fetal position after howling at the moon before they died, at how some use the club they founded to peddle extremist views.

Us, well, I’m not one to indulge the whim of ‘whitabootery‘ and I know the difference between sectarian, political and just outright offensive but I must admit that I have never known The Boys Of The Old Brigade to play for Celtic, Sean South scoring the winner for us in a cup final or that the Broad Black Brimmer has ever been staple of our away kit.
