“Just The Beginning”, The Greatest Fans In The World* & Some Peachy Goals

*As per EUFA 2003

I’ll start with what became an after thought. The game. We scored some great goals and played stuff that had your correspondent purring like a content cat. Only Gary Hooper could have ‘toe-poked‘ that goal, Sammy and Ki were a great combo for the second, Maloney was Paddyesq against his future employers and Paddy got in with a cameo strike. Satisfying performance. Very pleasing on the old eyes.

With Mark Wilson laying pole-axed and writhing in agony, The Green Brigade decided to start ‘The Huddle‘. The stadium, twitched and looked sheepishly at each other. It was like that moment when you had to pick a partner for the Gay Gordon’s at the Schools Christmas dance. There was a fear of rejection but really deep down you knew that your chosen Beau would say yes as you were better than Smelly Keith. We rose. We did.

Another iconic moment to go up there with ‘The Broonie‘ and ‘The Lenny‘.

A quick point. I have some sympathy for the monobrowed Mancs. I understand what it is like to live with a annoying neighbor whose fans have are frankly boorish. We have not stolen The Poznan. It’s been The Huddle for years. Like your introduction to success, youse are just Johnnie-Come-Latelys to this craze.

I notice some who must live in a pink fluffy world were posting the famous speech Al Pacino from Any Given Sunday in the hope to inspire our hopes of, what would have been, the biggest shock in SPL history. I think Lennon used the same scriptwriter……what else did you want to hear after losing the league but regaining your club?

There is a poll for the man of the match on the side of the blog. 5 Facts, Findings and Thoughts about our league season will posted over the next few days. You see, I’m tired and emotional* this evening.
