Lennon: The Worst Kept Secret In The World Revealed.

It really wasn’t a shock was it? No great surprise. It wasn’t like after a party waking up with a Lady GaGa drag act.

No, Neil Lennon getting put on ‘real’ managers wages with an improved one year rolling contract was never in doubt no matter what the disbelievers said. It’s time to move on from this fantasised problem that some had.

True, if the rumour was correct that Lennon plus backroom staff where on less than a Tony Mowbray then that had to be addressed. It has been addressed with little fuss, like all parties said it would be. We are all standing together.

There is still a few that visit this organ that say that Lennon doesn’t win big games, he’s made mistakes and his actions are not befitting of a Celtic manager.  Those arguments are hallow and boring now. So, last season.

Show me a manager that has won 100% of big games? I’ll show you a bedroom Champ Manager geek who hasn’t got a girlfriend, life or access to Porn Tube.

Show me a manager that doesn’t make mistakes? While I could show you the above, I’ll show the Scottish Press and their sixth form wanking eulogies to The Myth.

Also, you will need to tell me what actions are befitting a Celtic manager? I thought showing passion and caring would have been on that list? Also, telling it like is, surely, with our persecution complexes, is a plus?

On Talksport they were speaking to a Portuguese journalist about Villas Boas, a 33 year old rookie whose next job will see him earn £4.4m per year. They spoke about his touchline antics, where he has had a few wobbly moments and has a tendency to celebrate every goal as if it’s the winner. They also mentioned that he was a bit outspoken in the press.

These acts weren’t demonised. They were taken as part and parcel as a young man taking foul like steps into the world – though they broke into giant strides by the end of the season.

The Fat Cheerleader is starting his rookie career at the same age as Jose Murinho. He’s already proved to be on a short fuse with his behaviour – that was ignored by the beaks blinded by his failed Tv presenter, adulterer cheeky chapiness persona – during the Scottish Cup reply when he was held back on numerous occasions from charging into our dugout.

What’s he going to be like when the pressure mounts? He has a shyster in charge who has already appointed a Director Of Football behind his back and has previous in the night of the long knives game. Plus, Tommy Sheridans gimp is bored.

This is a subplot though. An interesting aside in a bitter rivalry.

I’m hoping that Kayal and Lizzy are tied up with as little fuss. That is the main plot now.

Very good article LOTW and I agree with everything you have said (a first for me).
Lenny was like a breath of fresh air blowing through CP after the Mowbray fiasco.I love his fire and passion. He is us, we are him…we are Celtic!!

    Hail Hail

    BELIEVE

a one year rolling contract. says it all doesn’t it, regardless of how you try to polish it up.

    • lordofthewing says:

What did it say about O’Neill, Strachan and Mowbray? Or don’t you grasp that it’s a contract that always has a year left unlike fixed term ones?

    • Ciaran says:

Over a million a year says all you need to know. The highest paid manager in Scotland. Including the National team boss.
I would imagine he would have to pay tax on that though.

I’m 100% behind NL, and I dont give a stuff about his supposedly bad behaviour.
But I do worry about the mistakes he made last season, mainly because it was the same mistake made over and over again, and he didn’t seem to learn from it.
I’m talking of course about the dreaded 4-2-4. He seems to be under some delusion that this is the Celtic way to play football and that it leads to attacking, entertaining footbal.

Well I can assure him that there’s nothing entertaining about watching four forwards standing around scratching their backsides while our midfield and defence gets overrun, often by teams we should batter like ICT. I could tell we were going to lose that game against ITC just from reading the team selection, then it doesn’t say much for NL’s ability to learn from his mistakes.

As Jock Stein said: “In a game, you need to fight for the right to attack”.
    That’s the Celtic way.
And we wont improve if we keep ignoring our, obvious, mistakes.

Strachan, Mowbray, Lennon. The man you so pettily refer to as the myth saw them all off, despite all the brag and bluster emanating from Parkhead over the piece. Then there was accusations, intimidation of officials and conspiracy. None of it worked.
Sir Walter kept his side focused throughout a sustained period of turmoil within the club, a scenario used by others in the past to excuse failure. Show a bit of dignity in defeat you lot and acknowledge Smiths management skills and tactical nous.
The only thing missing from the headline photie is a date and a row of numbers. Oh aye, and a 12 month contract is the way to build for the future.
Face it, the board don’t want him and they are almost as uncomfortable with his public personna as they are with the faithful clinging to him like shite to a blanket.

    • lordofthewing says:

The view you peddle is now as relevant or as bothersome as White dog shit. Improved contract which has a year to run whatever day his alarm go off. You like to think that the board are uncomfortable with the persona that the media peddle. They know different.

Heh, you mentioning so called intimidation is laughable. All was proved. Also, in a season when bombs and attacks were used as tactics by your mob as Lennon puts the fear in a lot of youse intimidation is not something you should be talking about.
