5 Facts, Findings And Thoughts About: The Huddle, Commons, McCourt, Zulaska, The Sheep.

1) The reaction to this performance and result has been harsh to say the least. The belief that we have to play swashbuckling, free flowing, goal laden football and anything else is dull has to change.

We were comfortable against The Sheep. We were let down by individual buffoonery in the final third (more on that later). We keep on playing our football and never resorted in humping the long ball. Patience is a virtue that lends to our style.

Our goal was stylish.

The Sheep were always going to make it difficult as any team that was owned by their opponents last season would be. When we scored they didn’t muster another attack as their game plan was to contain not to win.

2) As the bench celebrated the winner, a forlorn figure was looking dumbfounded and shocked at the goal. Paddy McCourt was stripped and ready for action. His face told the story that he knew that he wasn’t going to see any game time after Stokesy intervention.

3) Further celebration shenanigans. Was Cool Hand Luka trying to create a bond between him and the support with his visually impressive run and celebration in front of the Celtic support? Has another Polish keeper been texting him tips?

4) I’m sure that wasn’t the only one that was calling for Commons to be hauled off for James Forrest during the game. Commons was a bed wetting nightmare as he wasted good positions and his final ball was not even near being found wanting but just atrocious.

He did though have the savvy and speed of thought of a North London looter to pick pocket failed R*nger Richard Foster then the perfect weighted pass to return the ball to Stokes. Shows, really what do we know.

But, in a time honoured rash prediction, I still think that Commons will have a difficult and disappointing season, when judged against the impact of the last.

5) The Huddle. Please stop. The more we do it the more of a cheap gimmick and plastic it becomes. Like wearing false tits or laughing at Michael McIntyre it’s mockable.
