Coffee & Tv: Has The Cheating Begun Already (Video)

I watched part of their game yesterday. I was struck by how poor Inversenkie were and that it was only a matter before they scored.

Euan Norris has awarded them 5 penalties in the last 3 games he has meant to have taken control off. Yesterdays two were, well, one was dubious and the other was not a penalty.

I’m no fan of Ross Tokely. The man is a human tree and it’s not known how he had made a career in football. I’m no fan of Steven Naismith. He is light on his feet but since this is a Sunday I will be kind and just call him a diving wee scrotum.

Tokely won the ball. It should have rated as a great tackle. It didn’t.

The second penalty? Nice to see that the Romanian has already been introduced to the dark arts. But, if you touch then players have a want to go down and then it’s up to the MIB to make the decision.

For once I agree with Butcher. He moaned afterwards:

“We’re getting to the stage where you just don’t make tackles. It’ll be more like ballet than anything else”.

The crack down on the art of tackling can seem harsh at times. It’s needed now because of the athleticism of players, even of those blessed with no ability, means that some tackles will be akin to getting knocked down with a small car.

I have no problem with the outlawing of tackling from behind and dangerous studs up challenges. I have a problem when the art of tackling, which in itself can be as important and memorable as any goal, get’s criminalized by carrots who cant do their jobs.
