The above, via @ricardinho1989 shows the tactical thought that went into Shaun Maloney’s last appearance in The Hoops. It’s simple. It seems that one chunky monkey was meant to swap with another chunky monkey.

I was at that game against St Johnstone. That didn’t seem to happen. Also, Stokes up front on his own, at home against St Johnstone was instructed to happen…..jings.

Shaun has left us. Much like the above tactical genius he has been found wanting since his return from Aston Villa. His ability was never in question but his habit of picking up niggling injury’s that turned into season ending ones with rapid ease was the problem. No matter the will we had for him to succeed his departure barely raises a whimper.

That is a shame. Shaun is a lost talent and only he knows the reason why.

It seems that our quest for another striker was scuppered by Samaras refusal to admit that he was unloved and that St Etienne who be a cool place to wander around flicking your hair, looking distant, moody and intelligent. Rennes I’m not so sure about.

Though him depriving us of the chance of watching Richardo Fuller in The Hoops is split 50/50 between a blessing and a missed opportunity.

Sammy is like a girl that you used to fancy. You went out a couple of times but it wasn’t going to work despite that one special night. She will now not take the hint though your openly flirting with her friends and have returned all her Cd’s.

Deadline day throws up many puzzles. One of those was what does the manager of a high flying Championship team feel that a centre half who is so far down the pecking order at his current club that a converted left handsided midfielder is deemed more trustworthy think he will add to his team?

So, 4 permanent signings, two loanees and a load of not good enough, unloved and just messed up lead out the door to waiting taxis.

Good or bad window?

Bad transfer window , as we dont seem any stronger in squad depth or quality

Personally , i thought another centre half was needed . Big Dan should have been loaned/released . If he is not there , Lenny cant select him.
