As Groundbreaking As Bosman: Get The Player To Pay The Fee.

Fiscal Dignity Brother

Ours friends (sic) over the river have gave us another first today when they basically refused to pay a transfer fee and got the player to pay it himself.

The player in question is Sone Aluko who seemingly turned out for Aberdeen in the last 3 seasons and has been without a club since the summer.

The desperate player said:

“I don’t have millions in the bank. Looking at it that way, this is a BIG risk. “I’ve literally put my whole career on one decision. If it goes wrong, it goes VERY wrong. “

The reporting of this is positive. It’s a player desperate to play for the a club, proof that they are still a draw to out of contract Aberdeen rejects.

The player states that he was made to feel very welcome at the club and was promised a bright future. I’m sure human traffikers do the same before pocketing cash and shutting the lorry doors.

Compare and contrast the reporting of this and the Scott Brown situation, which sees us refusing to pay the players agent commission and rightly so. The player should pay his agent, not the club.

Has anyone told Aluko that the club he has joined could be out the game soon?

Update: I hear that the Foreign Sectary of Zimbabwe’s Son has yet to deposit the funds in Aluko’s account though he has been assured the funds will arrive soon after he is released from exile.
