We Are ‘Illicit’. Now Over To The Board.

EUFA today fined us £12,700 for ‘illicit chanting’ during our victory against Rennes in Europe’s premier second competition.

The match commander, assorted MP’s and high ranking bodes, who have selective hearing will be pleased. Isn’t there a bill to be passed this week?

Though this is a set up, we can’t deny that UEFA had us bang to rights with article 11 declaring:

“the use of gestures, words, objects or any other means to transmit any message that is not fit for a sports event, in particular if it is of a political, offensive or provocative nature.”

The interesting part now comes in our boards reaction. They have been vocal and unequivocal in their want for the chants to stop. Below is a screenshot of newsnow. It’s made the news the world over.

The brand has been damaged. I’m sure Peter is not happy when the brand is dragged through the mud.

A rebuttal and appeal? Or acceptance and a “we told you so“?

Developing.
