Job Done. Kayal Out For 4 Months

The sound of wailing that you here is not most of the country returning to work after the annual pig out but of the news that Beram Kayal could be out for a minimum of 4 months after it was discovered that he needed surgery.

The manager said:

“He had a second scan and he needs surgery.

We don’t know what the outcome of the surgery will be. There’s a possibility that he could be out for four months.

It was a good challenge between two committed players. The way his ankle has turned, he has got a bit of cartilage floating in there that might need attaching back in and there is ligament damage as well.

“It could be a minimum four months or we could maybe get better news. The result is he needs surgery, we are just not sure on the extent of it yet.”

There has already been some discussion about this here.

While our manager doesn’t blame the challenge, I blame the FACT that Elbows was allowed to be on the park to make the challenege. Off course we would want any club to have the right to appeal but surely in this case – and in others that will follow – where the offense is so blatant and the player guilty then a fast-tracking laughing out of court is in order.

Fat Sally’s desperation to let Elbows play then coupled with his recalling Clubfoot summed up his tactics and approach. Though they have many thugs who could have made the challenge they needed Elbows as they knew he would make a risky challenge and put himself about.

It is job done. Kayal out for a lengthy time and Elbows suspended for two games he is injured for anyway.
