Transfers imminent: Spanish, Scottish, English even African men?

|

In the ongoing catastrophe that is Harry Redknapps tax case involving him opening an offshore account in his dogs name, it has been further revealed that a well known SPL club has also suspectedly been caught in a copycat conundrum of the sky sporks news forever present, Bo-selecta faced, Spurs gaffer.

It has been sensationally revealed that Rangers Football Club may have opened offshore accounts in the dogs names: – Lassie, Shep, Beethoven, Sultan, Gnasher, Bolt and Scooby Doo. This proves not only is Ally McMoist (with fries) barking mad, so is their accountancy division.

Not they have an accountancy division and if they did it would probably look like the mad hatters tea party crossed with some sort of a fight scene from middle earth. Craig Whyte believes his solicitors have the pedigree (chum) to give a good defence, in that case I ponder the thought why they are not the starting backline for the gers and they are that thin on the ground that it is beyond dis-belief that Ally has not drafted them in.

Meanwhile in the ever assertive world of football the press has been turning the screw on a un-inventive tale of James Forrest being touted to Spurs. Harry Redknapp did not say much on the case but I believe he did state he thought “James Forrest was a wee tiny chihuahua who could have opened another offshore account” for him.

In no way is Jamesy going to Spurs to sit on the bench behind Aaron Lennon and co and never get a game. He wants to stay at Celtic, he has Celtic in his soul and I believe if he does leave to another club it will not be for many a year yet. I have mucho respecto for the little lad who loves playing his footy for us and I hope he goes on and gets better and better as the season unfolds.

In the terms of bolstering our front line, such names as Yann Kermorgant, Jason Roberts and Ricardo Fuller have been mentioned but one name in particular gave me food for thought.

Spanish ‘bigman’ Jorge Molina currently at Real Betis has been linked with our club. The 29 year old striker stands at 6ft 2″ tall and can push his weight about if needed, and it is needed for us. We need an extra dimension to our play and when Hoops, Stokes and Sammy are knackered or the latter being in one of his “Cant be ar$ed” moods he could definitely give us another edge to our play.

Molina is a goalscorer, I will be honest he is not exactly prolific but can be more than capable of hitting the net when its needed. At 29 he may look to move abroad and try out another style or essence of a different footballing culture, he certainly fit the bill.

Here is a video of him in action scoring against Barcelona:-

In another news bite, the type that hacks bite hands off for is the consistant touting by the press of Gary Hooper to clubs. Will these presshogs never learn, as soon as one bit of gossip is knocked down on one of our players they move onto the player on the next rung of the Celtic ladder. Again Gary Hooper is here for the cause and will not be going anywhere, he knows he is loved by the club, has a great standing position at the club, Lenny loves the bhoy and so do most of us in bucket loads.

I believe he has the potential to be a world beater and dare I say it looking towards a Larsson-esque goalscoring talented man he could become if he stayed with us and I believe he will. Lennon was right saying if Andy Carroll is worth £25 million so is Hooper. Hooper is a battler and a goalscorer, fights thick and thin and gives his all.

I cannot remember one match where I said to myself “Hooper looked lazy out on the pitch today”, that is an honesty he gives us out on the pitch and with 88 on his back, goals in the net and a partner in Stokes, Sammy, Bangura or otherwise we will be looking at a prospective silverware windfall coming our way.

It is also a delight to say that we welcome new Bhoy on the block, Rabiu Ibrahim to our squad list. He has been given a work permit and hopefully on the news given to us by Lenny, he will be definitely one to watch in our ranks. He should, like Bangura, be knocking on the door of the starting line-up and a 3 and a half year contract states that he is here with us for a long while yet.

Comments as always are welcome Bhoys and Ghirls???

All the dirty laundry of offshore bank accounts is getting very interesting, ten years ago i never thought it would take up so much media coverage…The Forrest saga seems to be dying down a bit thank goodness, he would be making a mistake by going now. He would end up another Liam Miller or Danny Wilson and put his career back years.

Forrest should look at McGeady. He is how you do it. Leave when you can’t improve any further in the confines of the football Guantanamo Bay that is the SPL.

You must’ve been watching a different hooper from me. He has been so frustrating this season as half the time he looks like he’s not interested!!! And the people that sit beside me think so too. he played brilliant on Saturday though.

You must be watching a different Hooper from me. He has had his quiet gemmes this season but he was suffering from the malaise the whole squad were suffering from.

Hes a scrapper and gives his all, watch him off the ball and see how hard he works, jockeying for position constantly

aye and as soon as the new lad scores a goal makes a half decent pass or beats a man am sure barca a real will admit they had been keeping tabs on him all along and just waiting till they could give the scottish press the story. so predictable and desperate, JELLYFISH IS OFF AND NO AMOUNT OF SMOKE AND MIRRORS IS GOING TO DRAW THE ATTENTION AWAY FROM THAT FACT, oh aye and at knowhere near 10 mill either !

I hear the fee is a bag of washers, some hub caps and 500 Tesco club card points redeemable in the toy section.

For me it’s this simple….when Hooper’s playing bad or not so much bad as, not involved, I blame the rest of the team lol…naw seriously he’s a goal scorer with an awesome touch and deadly finish….its a no brainer, “FEED THE MAN!!” Thats what I think our MF lacks alot of the time, someone like Naka to feed the man. Ki is our best and cleverest passer imo but obviously is not a Guarenteed starter. How often does Hooper get a 1 on 1 in a game and how often does he finish a 1 on 1. Personally Stokes is the man that makes Hooper tick and he tries more often than not to “put him in”. Lennon took a chance against St. Mirren with his team selection and it could of back fired. The subs changed the game and made it look like good tactics. Be careful Lenny and pick your strongest team when u can. Matthews, Izzy, Stokes, Commons got to start, I dont care who u drop, the team picks itself!!! HH 1NL YNWA 😀

I’m looking at this in the 5 facts later on (either tonight or tomorrow – life is life, busy) but Lennon has his Three Amigos back in Stokes, Hooper and Commons.

      Undroppable last season.

But this season we have the Forrest factor to add and Sammy – sort off – finding form and a role.

We can’t unbalance the team but how do you fit in these players?

  • lordofthewing (crabbit, crabbit, tired) says:

Since the Dead Tree Press have been unable to sell Jellyandicecream to the required amount they have turned their attentions to the STAR ACTS in our camp in a bid to unsettle.

First Hooper then Forrest. It all part of the gemme.

As for our striker needs I have said many a time on these pages that we don’t need the final solution we need a player that will come off the bench a few times, maybe start a few games and score a few goals.

Spending millions at this point seems folly on players – like the one you mentioned – that have the air of ‘that will do’ about them as no top targets are available.

I’m begining to sound too much like a frugal board member….

    • Sean says:

I think trialist and free players will be the focus I am afraid, money seems to be kept close to the chest at the moment.

  • Sean says:

Hes a scrapper and gives his all, watch him off the ball and see how hard he works, jockeying for position constantly.

  • BrummieBhoy says:

The press are desperate for one of our stars to make a comment so they can twist it to their own ends. It is noticeable that there are no open ended quotes from any of our players for them to feed off and this must so frustrating for them, mind you they aren’t going to get any quotes from rangers potential signings as they seem to be fleeing ipox at the first opportunity.

    • Sean says:

Well I have read West Ham are bidding for Jelavic as we speak but rangers are holding out for an extra packet of monster munch and a curly wurly in addition to the greggs steak bake they offered.

…but the press will try and gives us a nervous disposition and link our players away, like I think it has been said previously they do it to try and cause unrest in our ‘camp’ (NOT guantanamo bay camp either LOTW 😀 )
