You Really Must Believe Us

So another quiet week in Scottish football comes to a head this weekend with a home banker for everyones favourite team Rangers and a tricky away game at Hibs for leaders Celtic…if that was only the case eh?

This week has saw Rangers go into administration in what looks like another step closer to liquidation for our ugly sisters across the city. It would now seem that there is a problem at Ibrox despite the media trying to hide behind ‘legal reasons’ not to speak about the ongoing anguish thats happening in Govan. Of course Hugh Keevins first line of defence was ‘well they aren’t in administration yet and Celtic fans shouldn’t phone in gloating yet’ then he moved onto ‘well Hearts are heading the same way as well’. So you could imagine my pleasure that 24 hours later HMRC put them into administration themselves and Hearts paid their tax bill. No hiding place for Shug.

The media have also already started the ‘Scottish Football needs Rangers’ argument, excusing Rangers from all their criminal activity over the past 20 years. If me or you had avoided tax to even 1% of the fee Rangers will end up owing their noble queen, then we’d be in jail for a very long time. But of course the big house must stay open and all of that.

So back to the good guys, the league leaders and now champions elect Celtic, who travel to the capital on Sunday for what should be a tricky but in the end straight-forward victory for the tic. Hibs aren’t in any great shape but knowing teams like this decide to turn it on for when they play Celtic. We’ve had a few games away to Hibs recently that have ended in comfortable victories in fact Lennon has won every game he’s managed at Hibs. And given Celtic’s last trip to Edinburgh, we should not be worried in the slightest.

My team for Sunday would be; Forster, Matthews Wilson Rogne Izaguirre Brown Ledley Wanyama Forrest Samaras Hooper. It is vital we use Samaras to expose the space in behind the Hibs defence, just like he did the other night against Hearts. Hooper looks like the complete striker at the moment and his link up play is second to none in Scotland. Scott Brown is playing like a Celtic captain at the moment and another goal from him looks likely. Joe Ledley is playing brilliantly well for Celtic at the moment and its imperative that he is midfield and not a make shift left back. Izaguirre must be given game time because we know a player like him, once fit, will be back to his best again.

My prediction will be 3-0 Celtic going for Samaras, Brown and K.Wilson goals which we might have to wait until the second have to enjoy, but enjoy them we will.

Good luck to Kilmarnock who travel to Ibrox and they might have a job on their hands leaving Ibrox at the end of the evening without getting mugged of their money.

Oh and by the way, how many poppies can you buy with 75million in unpaid taxes anyway?
