Do You Trust The Others?

The news that The Others are meeting next week to discuss ‘The Future’ has been meet with some saber rattling, a rush to Wickes to buy pick axe handles, an urge to rip up bed sheets, buy some petrol and descend on the nearest car park.

It’s reach the level of a hysterical child screaming in the toy store and there has even been a whiff of snobbery. It’s not nice.

There seem’s to be a train of thought that The Others will allow NewORC FC back into the SPL wieoot punishment and not send them to oblivion.

Forgive me but…..if you EVER thought they were going to disappear completely and that any Govan Rowers weren’t going to be allowed straight back into the SPL then you were sniffing glue.

The reason that they will be let straight back in? Look at why the SPL was formed in the first place.

Greed.

It shames me to say that our club were one of the greediest when the rules were ripped up and the distribution of wealth changed.

The move from the SFL has seen R*ngers, Dundee and Motherwell enter administration. Gretna ceased to exist after we treated to a so-called fairy tale. A fairytale would be a completely fan owned club like Stenny or Stirling Albion making it to the SPL.

The club that is seen as the ultimate fan owned club, Barcelona, are saddled with debt that would sink Greece and refloat it again.

Still lessons of the Administration Three and the Deceased One won’t change the greed that drives the decision makers of the gemme.

The Others will be slobbering over potential riches and success. They can include NewORC FC in any Tv deal but can ensure that they are so severely handicapped that they can’t be a threat to them for at least 5 seasons. They can claim sporting integrity while in fact their intentions are as every bit as devious as R*ngers (in administration).

How do we come into this? We get less money from a Tv deal that is pitiful anyway. No great loss. Split of gate revenue? Unsure if that is a goer and on the agenda.

If R*ngers (in administration) go to become Govan Rowers FC then the utopia is them losing the history, them being financially crippled for years to come, them being punished for years of financial doping (a decent punishment not just lip service) and us getting to stuff them 4 times a season for the foreseeable.

We need to accept that. But then I’m all for clubs paying their way, sporting integrity and the redistribution of wealth.

If that doesn’t happen then we won’t need a boycott. Thousands will walk away anyway.
